10 day Kenya and Tanzania Safari
4/5

We really enjoyed our budget safari (6 days Kenya, 3 days Tanzania)and the communication and booking process from super eagles tours was awesome. They even looked into changing our itinerary mid trip. 5 stars for communication

Kenya:

Even though we booked a budget camping safari, the accommodation was really good. We were in a really large tent with a proper bed and private toilet and hot shower. There is not really much point booking anything above budget in Kenya, as you will only really get slightly better food.

For the first 3-4 days we had 8 people in our van even though our tour company promised maximum of 7 and other people in the van tour companies had promised 6. 8 was way too much as not everyone could stand up at one time to look out the top of the van. Everyone was staying at different places as well so with 8 people we spent a lot of time driving to drop all the people off at their accommodation. Sometimes this was up to 1 hour if they were staying in the parks.

There is a lot of driving in this safari, not only doing the safari but getting to the parks. There is more driving on the road than actually driving in the national parks. The tour companies could set it up so that driving is minimised as currently we go all the way down from Nairobi to the Tanzania border for the Masai Mara and then back up past Nairobi to Nakuru and only spent 2 hours safaring there, and then back down to Amboseli near the Tanzania border again. If they started going north of Nairobi to Nakuru first, then it would probably take out at least 1 whole day of driving and we could spend a lot more time at Nakuru as we felt we didn’t get enough time there.

Overall, The guides in Kenya were great and we saw lots of amazing animals. It was really fun, however the driving was getting to us in the middle of the trip and this could be avoided if it was set out better.

Tanzania

We opted for a ten day safari that covered both Kenya and Tanzania. We made this booking in a rush due to other plans falling through, we would probably book differently doing it again.

Since we are a young couple looking for an adventure, and not crazy about photography or animals, we would just do 6-7 day Kenyan safari and then head to Mombasa or Diana beach for few days at the beach. The Kenya side is a lot cheaper and this would take out a lot of driving.

For animal lovers, we would recommend adding on Tanzania, Tanzania is extremely good, It is Kenya on steroids. You see the same animals but just more of them. For example we saw a pride of 20-30 lions in the Serengeti and thousands of wilderbeest which you don’t get in Kenya. The downside is a lot more driving.

Tanzania

The Tanzania safari was great and the wildlife and scenery was next level amazing. We added Tanzania onto our Kenyan safari and spent 3 days on a safari tour.

We chose the budget safari and unlike Kenya the accommodation did reflect this. We were staying tents and had communal bathrooms which is fine for use but something to be aware of when booking. This also meant that the trucks were loaded with food and camping equipment which made it a bit crammed. Even though the facilities were basic the food was still amazing. Note that the chef also needs a tip which we did not know about. A generous tip for this is 10USD per person.

The safaris were awesome, but we felt we didn’t really have enough time to do the Serengeti well, but that is because it is so vast. Ngorongoro crater was amazing but likewise we only had a morning and it was cut short to get some people back to the airport.

For our trip the guide was below average and more of a driver than a guide. He didn’t really talk to us and only did very minimal talking on the safari. We would have liked him to talk about the animals and tell us facts and actually act interested. In Kenya it felt like a group hunt to find the animals which was fun, but in Tanzania is was more just drive and see what you see. The main thing that annoyed us about our guide is that in the last two hours of the trip he started being very friendly and even bought us red bananas, likely because he was about to receive a tip. When we finished we gave him our tip and he preceded to count it in front of us and then ask for more. This was very rude and in our opinion unacceptable, especially when our Kenya guides didn’t even look at the tip but just thanked us.

If there is a set amount to tip then the tour companies need to advise this and be reasonable. It is such a murky territory, and can easily ruin trips for people, when it’s not clear and people have paid thousands to be there.

Extremely unorganized and I felt they didn’t provide me with the services I purchased
1/5

I booked a 10 day Kenya and Tanzania safari. I am well travelled and this is far from my first tour. Overall I found the company extremely disorganized, my first driver uninterested and rude to other guests, and that I didn’t receive the services agreed on without actively being extremely vocal to get them and some I still didn’t get at all.

There are three main reasons I leave a one star review for this company.

1) I had a morning Safari booked for Masai Mara, the night before I hear the itinerary is changed and we are no longer going there. They told me this is because the government changed the rules from 24 hour passes to 12 hour passes, I would have hopped that they could have either purchased passes on the next morning as that is what I had purchased or made it up in some other way. They seemed completely uninterested in doing either. I was in a group with many others on many different tours, none of theirs had this option, I felt like because mine was the only one with this option they decided to not do anything about this.

2) After a short morning safari at Nakuru we headed to Amboseli, however on the way we had to stop at a gas station and wait for over two hours to get an additional two members in our vehicle, this meant we got in very late that night. We later found out the 2 members we were waiting for had just started there drive late that day due to the driver. I would have hoped the company would have either let us stay in Nakuru longer or would have sent the two others in a separate car.

3) When we went for our game drive in Amboseli our driver didn’t have the correct payment options causing us to be delayed. He then asked if one of us could pay and he would pay back, he said it was $4 but turned out it was far more. The fact that this delayed us and the fact that he tried to get us to pay more than he said was very concerning. If my AMEX when through (they didn’t take AMEX) I would have been charged a lot more than I was told.

4) When I crossed the border to Tanzania I was left alone and told a bus would be there at 10:30 to pick me up, already an hour wait after I got through the border. The bus however didn’t come until around 12:30 and didn’t leave until 1:30. It is lucky I had data to communicate with them otherwise I would have been in trouble. The fact that they would never proactively communicate with me or give me accurate times was extremely frustrating.

5) Communication: this was an issue throughout the trip, you would often not know ahead of time what was happening or when to wake up, several nights I would message them throughout the day asking the plan for the next day and they would say “someone will come tell you” but no one ever would even after asking multiple times, then I would have to wake up in the middle of the night and message some more before finding out what time I had to wake up.

6) One day our whole party arrived at the hotel and the front desk told us there were no reservations for us. I never got an answer from the company as to what happened but clearly it didn’t get booked. We then had to spend a bunch of time trying to figure out where we would all stay for the night as there were not enough rooms. Through pure generosity of the other people I was on tour with they decided to all cram into one room so I could have a room as the hotel only had two left. If not we would have been in a very bad situation late at night with a company that had proven they would make you wait a long time and would not communicate well.

That all being said Juma, my driver for the Tanzania portion was phenomenal. I just can’t justify giving anything but one star based on the other factors.

Overall this was an extremely frustrating experience and I would recommend staying away from this company. Hopefully I can save someone the pain.

a safari experience that deviated from the expected itinerary
3/5

I had booked a seven-day safari with Super Eagles, upgrading my accommodation for added comfort. Unfortunately, the journey didn't unfold as expected. Sharing a minibus with five strangers from different agencies was unexpected, and accommodation issues even led to a missed booking. The lodging arrangements didn't match the initial plan. Despite the prime wildlife viewing times being sunrise and sunset, our schedule rarely accommodated this. Additionally, the addition of two new travelers resulted in a shortened visit to Nakuru Park, allowing them to catch another minibus. Two new travelers joined later, forcing us to cut short our Nakuru Park visit so they could catch another minibus.

Amazing!!
5/5

I absolutely loved my experience with Super Eagles tours. They were kind, professionals and the tour is definitely worth paying for it (I took the 6 days safari in Kenya). We went to Masai Mara park, Lake Nakuru ans Amboseli.

As a solo female traveler, I wanted to feel very safe, and the two guides I had made sure of it!

Special mention to:

1. Charity: she was the first person on the company with whom I interacted. She was always quick to answer and wanting to help. She made sure all my interrogations were answered and I felt I could trust the company by my communications with her. She’s an angel!

2. Eric: he was the first guide I had. He was so nice! Always kind and smiling, he was very funny and I enjoyed him as a guide. Always ready to help and to answer questions.

3.Josef: I really appreciated him as our guide. He was very careful and made me feel safe. He was really passionate about his work, wanting us to see animals and was always paying lots of attention trying to spot them in the park. He answered all of my questions about the animals and he drove for hours and hours and yet, he was always kind, patient and ready to help.

Thanks a lot for them all.

And PLEASE, do not forget to tip the guides. They do A LOT for us and they deserve recognition for it.

Also, please always be respectful, grateful and patient with the guides. It’s exhausting work and they deserve to be treated with respect.

Feel safe to book with them, I didn’t regret my choice at all 😊

Reliable service and trustworthy operators
5/5

Our group of four (plus two extra folk later on) were driven by Brian, of Super Eagles, for 8 days of Safari. During this time we went all over Kenya, covering hundreds if not thousands of miles. Brian tackled the entire journey with lots of laughter and humour, as well as deep knowledge of his home country. We always felt taken care of - he often checked in with us to make sure we were getting the experience we had hoped for and made efforts to fulfill any extra requests we may have had. Also, his actual driving was amazing - there was literally no way we would have managed to tour this country without him. After we parted company with Brian, he even helped us out with an issue we had with another driver (even though we were then in another area of the country), so he really went above and beyond to make our trip special. I believe Super Eagles are fantastic for the money they charge. In terms of actual experience in the national parks, we had just as great a time as folk clearly spending far more than us, as ultimately all the views, nature, and animals were the same! I'd recommend this company to anyone.

The Seven Day Safari exceeded all expectations thanks to Super Eagles
5/5

From the onset I found Bildad to be really helpful in addressing all our issues prior to committing to the safari. Super Eagles also provided cost effective and efficient transport to and from Nyeri and Nairobi which included a very pleasant and informed driver.
The safari itself turned out to be a great adventure, and there was nowhere our intrepid driver Brian wouldn't take us! He was very attentive to all of our needs and made the whole trip into a great adventure.
My sister who had previously been on a far more expensive safari said that the Super Eagles safari was every bit as interesting and perhaps more involving due to the accomodation which varied from friendly campsites to hotels.

If you're looking for value for money, a very varied and interesting itinerary and an extremely friendly service, I don't think you could beat Super Eagles.

Thanks again Brian and Bildad for making our trip so wonderfully memorable!

A professional safari operator and extremely well planned vacation
5/5

I have travelled around Kenya visiting 4 national parks in 10 days this month. While I was initially hoping to plan and execute all by myself, I found that I’m slipping beyond my budget. After almost a week’s search for a reliable Safari operator based in Kenya, I found Super Eagles and their extremely professional team member Mrs Charity. So my interaction with Charity to plan this trip commenced in October 2023 with multiple iterations to suit my liking and she was really patient to accommodate it all. She even advised me on how to make my 10 days vacation more comfortable with little tips and preparation. All that done and when I landed at Kenya (this being my first trip abroad with my family) I was really worried how things will go about in execution. To my luck and due to Super Eagles expertise and experience in this profession, we had a wonderful and memorable trip. All my stays in 10 days were in the best hotels (mostly 5 star) in the locality and national parks I visited. The vehicle that we had for all game drives were really comfortable and the drivers did a wonderful job in ensuring that we have close encounters with the big fives (and that’s why we came here for, right). Overall, when I’m returning back to India today, me and my wife and carrying back a bag full of wonderful memories and great impressions of Kenya and Super Eagles. I have already shared my itinerary to three of my friends back in India along with Mrs Charity’s contact number. To conclude we did this trip in almost 2/3rd of our initially planned budget. Definitely I’m going to come back to Kenya again to visit national parks in future and once again it’s a deal with Super Eagles. Once again, thank you Super Eagles and Super Charity, God bless you.
