My wife, a friend, and I contacted GoGiraffe to organize a 10-day trip to western Tanzania. Our goal was to visit Katavi National Park, Mahale, and Gombe. When designing the tour, I really appreciated Luice's promptness: he was easy to reach and quick to respond to our requests. The area we wanted to visit is the least visited in Tanzania, and the parks are difficult to access, yet they guarantee very few tourists. In the three parks we visited, we were almost always alone! We met Luice upon arrival by ferry from Zanzibar and immediately appreciated his punctuality and constant communication via wupp, which made us feel safe and well looked after. We flew to Mpanda, where we met the local driver and guide. We agreed on a medium-budget tour, so we slept in the park's Bandas. The accommodation was simple but decent, as was the food offered at the Bandas' restaurant. The park is fantastic, and we saw all the expected animals, with the sole exception of the lions. We never encountered any other tourists and thoroughly enjoyed the two-day safari. From Katavi, we traveled to Mahale. It's almost impossible to get there directly because the road conditions are terrible, but the journey is a great opportunity to observe local life and people. Then, we stopped in Kigoma, where we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful Kigoma Hilltop Hotel with its lake views, a gorgeous pool, and an excellent restaurant! The next day, another long and beautiful drive to Mahale, including a very picturesque ferry ride—an incredible experience immersing ourselves in local life! Finally, we reached the park with a final 90-minute boat ride on Lake Tanganyika, admiring the stunning, pristine coastline. The scenery in Mahale is extraordinary: I felt like I was in Jurassic Park! In the park, we were supervised by Hussein Mavumila: a fantastic, expert, and very kind guide. The food was good, even better than in Katavi. The next day, Hussein and I began trekking in search of chimpanzees, whom we encountered and observed all morning. Incredible! The next day was a long journey: back to Kigoma to take the boat to Gombe. The journeys on this trip have always been long and not particularly comfortable, but, for me, they were the best moments in Africa because they allowed us to see real life, including fishing villages with Lake Tanganyika always in sight. Gombe National Park was founded by Jane Goodall to preserve and study chimpanzees. The Banda are very poor, so if you can, book a tent at the nearby camp: a little more expensive, but far cleaner and more comfortable! The next morning, another long hike in the forest, observing several relaxed chimpanzees, very busy eating and delousing. A fantastic day! After lunch, we decided to speed up our journey back to Kigoma to reach the comfort of the Kigoma Hilltop Hotel! This decision allowed us to be there the next day at 8:00 a.m. when the fishermen arrived from their night fishing expedition and spend a couple of hours admiring the local women selling sardines. A colorful and amazing sight! The morning concluded with a visit to the Kigoma train station (a very important piece of Tanzanian history), the Slave Route surrounded by enormous mango trees, and the very interesting Livingstone Museum, built on the site where Dr. Livingstone and Mr. Stanley met. Our trip concluded with a comfortable night in Dar, where we had the opportunity to enjoy a delightful dinner with Luice, learning a lot about Tanzania and future travel opportunities! Overall, our experience was very positive, knowing that this trip is not for everyone, but especially for experienced travelers. Visiting the less touristy part of Tanzania can be a bit of a hassle, but Luice's constant assistance through Wupp helped solve all the problems, and the reward is fantastic: we will cherish the beautiful images of people, nature, and landscapes for the rest of our lives!

An unforgettable safari in Tanzania thanks to Gogiraffe and Nazaret
5/5

We had the chance to go on a safari in southern Tanzania with Gogiraffe, exploring Mikumi, Ruaha, and Nyerere national parks — and we came back absolutely thrilled!

Our guide, Nazaret, made this trip truly exceptional. He knows the wildlife and nature inside out and shares fascinating stories not only about the animals but also about the country’s culture and history. Thanks to him, every animal encounter felt like a living story. We felt like we were discovering Tanzania “from the inside,” far beyond a typical safari experience.

If you dream of an authentic safari, full of emotions and discoveries, you can trust Gogiraffe with your eyes closed. And if you have the chance to go with Nazaret, don’t hesitate for a second: you’ll have an unforgettable experience!

Unforgettable 6-Day Safari with Gogiraffe Safaris
5/5

We had the most incredible experience with Gogiraffe Safaris on our 6-day journey through Mikumi, Ruaha, and Nyerere National Parks. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized and exceeded our expectations.

Our driver-guide was truly exceptional — knowledgeable, friendly, and deeply passionate about wildlife. He made every game drive exciting and educational, always going the extra mile to find the best sightings while ensuring we were safe and comfortable at all times.

The accommodations throughout the safari were excellent, with each lodge offering a unique charm, great food, and warm hospitality. We especially appreciated the thoughtful selection of places that blended comfort with authentic safari vibes.

What really stood out was the responsiveness and professionalism of the entire Gogiraffe Safaris team. From planning the trip to handling every detail during our stay, they were always available, proactive, and attentive to our needs.

We couldn’t have asked for a better way to explore Tanzania’s stunning wildlife and landscapes. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a seamless and unforgettable safari experience!

Excellent Tour Operator and Service
5/5

This was a private tour planned with us and Go-Giraffe Safaris. We went to Mahale, Tarangire, Ngonrogoro and Serengeti National Parks. In total we travelled to the parks with Go-Giraffe Safaris for two weeks. We had an exceptional two weeks filled with incredible care, expertise from the guides and drivers they provided. The lodges and camps where we stayed were top of the line with excellent facilities and the food was beyond excellent ! All my meals were gluten free prepared. The memories we will have of this journey through Africa was made even more special with Go-giraffe safaris. We thank Restituta, Hussein, Jacob and all the staff who made our stay in Mahale so very special. We thank Lemomo, our guide and driver who took us through Tarangire, Ngonrogoro and Serengeti showing us the parks with his expertise and passion for the animals. We love to hear his stories at dinner and we had fun meeting his mom near his village! All the staff at Go-Giraffe made our trip so very special. Karama Lodge in Arusha was exceptional! Thank you to Luice who kept in touch with my husband throughout the whole trip making sure all was going smoothly.

Wonderful Tanzania tour
5/5

Luice from Gogiraffe Safari planned and organized our family vacation in Tanzania for us in close coordination. We felt very well looked after for the entire 5 weeks. Luice was a reliable contact person at all times, was always there to help us even with last-minute changes and kept asking about us during our stay. The vacation began in the Serengeti, led through the interior of the country to Lake Nyasa and the islands of Mafia and Zanzibar. During all of the stops, the partners from Gogiraffe were there to support us. All partners and employees were very friendly, reliable and helpful. We can recommend Gogiraffe in every respect, it made an unforgettable family vacation a reality for us. Thank you very much, dear Luice, and see you next time, Stefan, Patricia & Nora

The Best Serengeti Experience Bar None
5/5

I can't recommend GoGiraffe Safaris highly enough for an everything-you-could-wish-for African safari experience. From pre-travel communication and aid, to designing a custom safari & Zanzibar trip for our group of 8, luxury accommodations and flexible schedules on each day of our tour, and not least, spending hours (upon hours!) with us each day as we reveled in the natural beauty of the landscape and took our 8000th picture of a zebra :), Luice and his guides Rama and Rajab were consummate professionals while also being friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable.

I am convinced that Luice has the sharpest eyes in all of Serengeti and without him we would have missed much on the "endless plain." My heartfelt thanks to Luice and his crew for a truly amazing experience. Asante sana!

Wonderful safari experience
5/5

GoGiraffe Safaris were exceptional guides as they toured my wife and me and our friends through the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. We saw an amazing number of animals and beautiful scenery. Its exhausting and exhilarating, and our accommodations were a nice respite from the long days in the wilderness. I would highly recommend Luice and GoGiraffe Safaris, as they not only educated us in the history and culture of East Africa, they are able to solve problems. Before the trip we had difficulty with our visas that Luice was personally able to resolve. While we were visiting Stone Town after our safari my wife left her earrings at a Zanzibar resort, Luice was able to make arrangements to retrieve her earrings. Luice and his drivers were great companions.

8 day Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Zanzibar Island
5/5

To plan the trip, I researched tour groups. I sent emails to a number of them and received a few replies back in 5 to 6 days. Gogiraffe Safaris responded in less than 24 hours, indicating good communication. After talking to my fellow travelers, I sent out our itinerary modifications to 6 tour groups that sent replies to my initial inquiry. Two replied, including Gogiraffe Safaris, with a revised itinerary and pricing with our suggestions included, in less than 24 hours.
Once we got the itinerary we wanted, we started looking at lodging. I asked both tour groups for 3.5 to 5 star lodging options in our budget. Gogiraffe Safaris excelled in the options they offered beyond my expectations. We decided to go with the Manyara Burudika Lodge, Lahia Tented Lodge, Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge. We went forward Gogiraffe Safaris because of their flexibility, friendly and quick communication and price.
Gogiraffe Safaris sent us links for shots we that we should have for traveling that area of Africa plus travel Visas. Some of my group had technical issues getting the visas. The Gogiraffe Safaris team stepped in to help get them processed at no cost. A month out they sent out a recommended packing list which was very helpful.
When we landed in Tanzania the Gogiraffe Safaris team, our guide Luice Bayanga and drivers Raja and Raffa, were waiting for us right outside the exit gate. They were wearing Gogiraffe Safaris t-shirts for us to easily identify them where tour groups pick up their guests.
From the airport, we made our way to Lake Manyara National Park for our first day of safari. Each national park has paperwork and fees. Gogiraffe Safari’s team have everything in order for a quick and smooth entrance to each in every national park.
When we where in the parks Gogiraffe Safaris team were very knowledgeable not just about the animals and birds, but also trees and plants. They have great relationships with other tour groups to give them share locations where animals are located.
When we went to each lodge, Luice and his team had everything as planned for a very smooth transition into our rooms/tents. With the Gogiraffe Safaris team it was seamless and after long day of travel and driving around looking at animals it was much appreciated. There was no check-in hassle.
Through the whole trip Luice checked in with me to make sure things were going well for our party.
We saw many, many animals, enjoyed our lodging and meals and felt we had an extremely memorable and experience at a good value. Some in our party took advantage of the hot air ballon experience, which I would recommend. You have a great view and are off the bumpy roads for a while.
The day we were heading to Zanzibar, after the five-day safari, Luice and his team brought us to an authentic Tanzania restaurant. When we were finished with lunch, Luice gifted us with clothing that the women of his village had made which was very special. I was honored to get the colors of his village.
If you are going on safari anywhere in Africa, I strongly recommend you use the Gogiraffe Safaris team. Luice has over 20 years in the business with many repeat customers. I know I will be a repeat customer.
