We had an amazing safari trip with Ian who was our extremely knowledgeable and helpful guide. We managed to see the big 5 and experienced lots of memorable sightings. Communication with the agency was easy. We stayed at the Governors camp which itself felt like a wildlife park and the staff was fantastic. Thank you for organizing a great trip for us!

The trip of a lifetime
5/5

Our safari trip to Kenya was one of the best experiences we have ever had! We loved every second of our trip, fell in love with Kenya and its beautiful nature, and learned so, so much thanks to our amazing tour guide, Peter!

Beyond the Plains were so helpful from our initial email, throughout our trip, and right until the very end. They answered all of our questions, tailored the perfect trip for us, and made sure we got our dream safari experience. Special thanks to Maurine for all her help planning the trip, and to our guide, Peter, for making sure we had an amazing experience.

We did a 5-night, 6-day safari and visited Amboseli National Park, Lake Naivasha, and Maasai Mara National Reserve. Our three different accommodations were clean, comfortable, and lovely, with great service and food. We especially recommend staying in a tented camp, as it truly gives you the full experience of being surrounded by nature.

Top tip: The distances between the parks can be quite long (5–6 hours), so definitely consider travelling by small plane to save time. Bring plenty of snacks, both for the drives between parks and for the game drives, as you will be out for long hours.

Thank you, Beyond the Plains, Maurine, and Peter, for the best time! We can’t wait to be back! 🐘🦁❤️

We had an incredible time with Beyond the Plains. Over ten days spend with Ronnie as our guide, and he was UNBELIEVABLE. Connections all around the reserves and he put us in fantastic spots to get photos. We even saw a leopard hunt an impala. What an incredible experience. I recommend asking for Ronnie specifically, he was truly fantastic.

We just finished our 11 night safari with Beyond the Plains. It was outstanding. We visited four different areas in Kenya and had the time of our lives. All of our accommodations were excellent. Our driver, Ronnie, made the trip wonderful. His knowledge and professionalism were top notch. I would highly recommend Beyond the Plains.

Robbie went the extra mile to ensure we had the best experience possible.
5/5

My parents, a friend, and I booked our safari in Kenya with Beyond the Plains and it was absolutely incredible. We visited all of the main parks, saw amazing wildlife, and felt at home each step of the way. Our tour guide, Ronnie, was the best driver we could have asked for. He went the extra mile every day to ensure we were taken care of and got to see everything. He wasn’t just friendly with us, but with every other driver as well, working as a team to help other tours experience the animals along the way.

We did 11 days across Amboseli, Naivasha, Nakuru, and Masai Mara, and loved every minute of it. Each spot offered a unique look into Kenya’s culture, the animals, and the resorts. From seeing lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, elephants, and more, we couldn’t have asked for a better trip. Highly recommend!

The best, Trip of a lifetime!
5/5

Our 11 day safari with Beyond the Plains exceeded all expectations! From the booking process with Linet to arrival and meeting our most amazing driver Ronnie this was our best trip ever! We stayed in Amboseli, Naivasha, Nakuru, and finished with 5 nights in the Masai Mara. The accommodations were all great with outstanding service and good food. We liked the Maisha Mara camp the best.

A few more words about our driver Ronnie. We really became family during the trip - he always said “don’t worry about anything we are family in this car” and you know he meant that. He was so friendly, safe, and knowledgeable. Ronnie knew all the parks and treated all the other drivers so well, emphasizing his great qualities. Ronnie went the extra mile to ensure we got to experience a LOT of amazing wildlife, capped off by a successful leopard hunt that happened right in front of us on our last day. He always put us in perfect position for viewing and photos.

One hundred percent recommend Beyond the Plains! Make a special request for Ronnie!

The Best
5/5

Beyond the Plains was not simply a great safari provider - they were a phenomenal partner for our first trip to Africa. It started with Fridah, who provided an initial proposal and then was incredibly patient and helpful as I had endless questions and revisions. My experience with her is part of why I chose Beyond the Plains over others I considered. We had one guide in Kenya’s Masai Mara and another in central Serengeti over 8 days. Both went above and beyond to find everything we hoped to see and much more. They shared their expertise as we grilled them about the wildlife and the region. David in Serengeti even tracked down a lone Rhino, completing our search for the big five. We had fun with him figuring out over 30 bird varieties when we weren’t watching lions, leopards and cheetahs. I highly recommend Beyond the Plains!

Kenya safari game drives done right and big thumbs up to Beyond the plains safaris!
4/5

We travelled to Kenya as a family with our 13-year-old son for our first of a lifetime experience of an African safari. We chose Beyond the plains safaris as your travel partner. The pre-travel correspondence was all via email and whatsapp. Our travel agent Maurine was super friendly and quick to respond. They curated an itinerary for us based on our choice of sites we wished to visit on our 8 day trip. These included Amboseli, lake Naivasha, lake Nakuru and Masai Mara, with one last day at Nairobi.
The company provided us with a nice 4x4 land cruiser for our entire trip and our driver cum guide Harun was very pleasant and accomodative. We noticed he always followed the rules and respected the park as well as the animals.
Are lodges/camps were also great choices and we enjoyed our stays.
We highly recommend Beyond the plains safaris for anyone looking to make a trip to Kenya as they ensure we are well experienced, their prices are reasonable and they ensure you have a good time.

An Unforgettable First Safari in Kenya – Thank You Beyond The Plains Safaris!
5/5

What an incredible experience! Seven of us recently travelled to Kenya for our very first safari, organised by Beyond The Plains Safaris, and we came home with memories that will stay with us for a very long time.

Our trip began in Nairobi, where we stayed at the Argyle Grand Hotel Nairobi Airport on our arrival in Kenya. We also returned there for one night before our flight home. The Argyle was excellent — comfortable, welcoming and very convenient for the airport, making it a great choice for the beginning and end of our holiday.

From Nairobi, our safari adventure took us to Amboseli National Park, where we stayed at Kibo Safari Camp, followed by the magnificent Maasai Mara, where we stayed at Mara Maisha Camp. Both were wonderful places to stay and gave us two very different but equally memorable safari experiences.

Another highlight was taking a bush flight with Mombasa Air Safari from Amboseli to the Maasai Mara. It was a fantastic experience in itself and saved us a long journey by road. All the transfers and arrangements worked seamlessly, which meant we could simply relax and enjoy the adventure.

Our two driver-guides, Jimmy and Ben, were absolutely brilliant. They were friendly, knowledgeable, patient and professional throughout. They looked after all seven of us extremely well and really added to the enjoyment of our game drives. Their knowledge of the wildlife and the areas we visited was invaluable, and they always seemed determined to give us the best possible safari experience.

A particularly big thank you goes to Fridah Kimathi, our main point of contact at Beyond The Plains Safaris. From the initial planning right through to the trip itself, Fridah was responsive, helpful and reassuring. Organising a trip for seven people involving Nairobi hotels, safari camps, road transfers and a bush flight could easily have become complicated, but Fridah and the team made everything feel effortless.

On our way back to Nairobi, we also stopped for lunch at CJ's at The Waterfront Karen, which was another lovely touch to the itinerary. The food and experience were amazing and it was a great place for the seven of us to relax and enjoy lunch together as our safari adventure was coming to an end.

As this was our first safari, we didn't really know what to expect, but the whole experience exceeded our expectations. From our stays at the Argyle Grand Hotel, Kibo Safari Camp and Mara Maisha Camp, to the game drives, bush flight, wonderful lunch at CJ's, spectacular scenery and, of course, the incredible wildlife, the entire trip was unforgettable.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Beyond The Plains Safaris to anyone considering a safari in Kenya, whether it's your first safari or you're returning to Africa. Everything was extremely well organised, we felt very well looked after throughout, and most importantly, all seven of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

A huge thank you to Fridah, Jimmy, Ben and the entire Beyond The Plains Safaris team for making our first safari such a special and unforgettable experience. We would happily travel with you again!

Amazing customer service and Safari experience
5/5

We went on safari to Kenya with Beyond the Plains and it was a fantastic experience. From the moment we reached out to them they assigned one person -Maurine- to tailor made our safari according to our (ever changing) wishes. Maurine was amazing from start to finish (including post travel check ins to see if we arrived home safe) and no ask was too small for her. It was by far the best customer service I have ever received from a tour operator (and I dealt with some UK’s premium ones in the past).
Our guide/driver was Steve and he was also first rate. Very knowledgable, showed us all the animals there were to see during safari (including the Great Migration at Masai Mara and the elusive leopard) and he is also a great company.
Would definitely recommend Beyond the Plains to anyone looking for a top notch safari operator in Kenya and would love to go on another African safari with them again.
