Individual attention to detail and availability
We had the most amazing experience with the team of Beyond the Plains. Linet was there to prepare and propose a unique travel plan for our family and she was of great advice for the choice of our destinations, accommodation and activities. Not only she was there to prepare the plan, but she was available all the time during our trip and she even did her best to accommodate changes during the trip! Our guide, Rooney, was our kids’ genie in a bottle - they want to see a cheetah - here they are, a rhino - do not ask more… he even found a leopard up in the trees for them!

Four Days of Dust, Distance, and the Real Kenya
Look, I'm not going to tell you the usual safari picture- the majestic sunsets, the circle-of-life nonsense, the Instagram-ready shots of giraffes silhouetted against an orange sky. That stuff happens, sure. But here's what actually matters about this trip with Beyond the Plains Kenya Safaris: the people gave a damn. Maurine built this thing from scratch with me. Not some cookie-cutter, check-the-boxes package tour where you're herded like cattle through the greatest-hits compilation of African wildlife. This was different. Maurine listened. Asked questions. Built something that made sense for what I actually wanted, not what some marketing department decided tourists should want.
Then there's Ben. The driver. Which is a completely inadequate title for what this guy does. Ben's not just steering a Land Cruiser through the Mara he's reading the land, the light, the behavior of animals you can barely see yet. He's anticipating. Always working an angle to get you closer, to position you better, to show you something most people miss. No autopilot. No phoning it in. Every day, he's working. Respecting the animals and disturbing them.
Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara yeah, they're spectacular. The landscapes do their thing. The wildlife shows up. But the accommodation is where a lot of these operations reveal themselves as either authentic or pure tourist extraction. The places Ben and Maurine put me? They felt real. Comfortable without being sanitized. Nice without that gross, performative luxury that screams "We think you're an idiot with money."
No one was performing Africa for me. No one was selling me a fantasy. This was just Kenya. The actual place. With actual people who happen to be exceptionally good at what they do.
Would I recommend Beyond the Plains? If you want the real thing, handled by people who actually care whether you have a meaningful experience or just another transaction to forget? Yeah. Absolutely.

Excellent Safari tour with Den
Our safari in Kenya led by Den was absolutely incredible and truly exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, everything was well organized, smooth, and enjoyable.
Den is an outstanding guide, knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about wildlife and Kenya. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible sightings, and his experience really showed. We saw an amazing variety of animals, and Den always took the time to explain their behavior, habitats, and the surrounding landscapes, which made the experience even more special.
What really stood out was Den’s professionalism and care. He made us feel safe, comfortable, and welcome at all times, and he was always flexible and attentive to our interests. His positive attitude and sense of humor added so much joy to the trip.
This safari was a once in a lifetime experience, and Den played a huge role in making it unforgettable. I would highly recommend Den to anyone planning a safari in Kenya, you’ll be in excellent hands.

Absolutely raving!
First time for our family in Kenya and we couldn’t have been happier! From start to finish, we felt heard and absolutely pampered. Lilian was an incredible support throughout the entire booking process, carefully and patiently crafting an itinerary suited for our family and giving advice whenever needed.
As for the safari itself, Ken was a truly outstanding guide and driver, and became a friend. He always made sure the kids had a good time while being safe; he is SO knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. We managed to see every single animal on our safari bucket list, except for the leopard, but we came close enough. Ken, thank you so much. We had the best time!

The most amazing safari experience
This was the first time me and my husband visited Kenya, and safari - and it did not disappoint. Beyond the Plains were the perfect guides, from the initial inquiry a few months ago, to arriving in Kenya, and the entire safari itself. The team were so accommodating, customised our itinerary, extremely flexible - and just everything we wanted and more. We loved the entire experience, from our accommodation, game drives and our guide. Thank you!

Beyond the plains was really good from start to finish. The help they provided with planning the trip to execution with some of their best guides, Ken and Kevin, we had a truly shading time and experience! The guides were also very knowledgeable and experienced.

Amazing Amboseli Safari
We had a fantastic time on our two night, three day safari to Amboseli National Park with Beyond the Plains. Everything happened as planned and without any issues. Thanks to our amazing driver and guide Ben, we saw some amazing animals and were even lucky enough to get to see Kilimanjaro. Overall a fantastic experience and one we would recommend to anyone. A special thanks to Linet also for always being very responsive over WhatsApp for any queries or questions we had at all times.

A Truly 5 Star Experience
We had a tremendous time exploring Kenya with Beyond the Plains. The booking was straightforward and the team were very accommodating to our needs.
All of the accommodation and food was to a great standard and we were very fortunate to get to see all of the Big 5, Big 9 and even the Ugly 5 across our days.
Big shout out to our guide/driver Ben who took us absolutely everywhere for 8 whole days and definitely made the trip for us. He was friendly, informative and all around a lovely person. We were the only two in our vehicle and it made for an awesome and relaxing couples trip.
I would highly recommend Beyond the Plains for your Kenya safari experience.
