Once in a lifetime experience!
10 stars for Ronnie! What an amazing experience I had on a solo 5 day adventure exploring Naivasha, Nakuru and Masai Mara. Ronnie took great care to make sure I not only saw so many incredible animals, but was safe and always looked after. Highly recommend Beyond the Plains, all the communication from the moment of contact was professional and efficient, and everywhere I stayed was beyond expectations. A truly once in a lifetime experience, thank you!

A challenging itinerary that was well planned and organised
We were referred to BTP Safaris via Ella McKendrick. We were able to submit our potential itinerary to Andrew and the team and left it to them to organise and boo various tours and trips plus accommodation. We were kept informed of progress in the build up to the adventure. We were met at our Nairobi hotel by our driver and 2 of the organising team and headed off towards Amboseli. Shortly afterwards we encountered a long traffic jam and our driver chaose an alternative route to avoid delay that he had never encountered before. We headed off with full confidence in his helpful experience of Kenyan roads and tracks. This was completed only to come across a Maasai roadblock to our first game lodge accommodation. The demonstration was resolved by the police and we were able to take in an evening game drive in Amboseli reserve - we saw Maasai giraffe and herds of elephants and water buffalo plus birdlife and the odd gnu. Next day we observed hippos and a few cheetahs, worthogs, antelope, gazelles and water bucks and then a tour of the local Maasai community. We were able to learn about their culture and lifestyle. He next day we winessed the White Mountain without the cloud and headed of to the Tatia Hills reserve. There were less animals here but we did see 2 lionesses, one with 3 cubs and the other heavily pregnant. Next, we were dropped at Voi station for a train ride to Mombassa. Again, we were picked up by the next arranged driver who took us the Fort Jesus (and the Spice Market), shown around by a Maasai guide. Follwoing tis we were taken to our final accommodation at Diani Beach. This was really welcome as a rest from all our travel in Kenya. We had great hospitality there and were able to do a couple of boat trips - one up the Kongo river and another on the sand bar in the Indian Ocean. Overall, we expereinced a seamless trip and everything was organised to a very high standard. Thank you.

Amazing safari experience!
We had such an amazing time on our safari. We did a 4-day safari in Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara and it was perfect. We had to shift our travel dates last minute and the company was very accommodating. Our driver Duncan was the best!! He showed us so many different animals and taught us a lot about the surrounding communities. It was a lovely trip and we would recommend Duncan and Beyond the Plains to anyone looking to book a safari!

Best trip ever
Beyond the Plains Safari made our experience amazing and wanted to come back, they take care of everything we dont have to worry about anything. The guide is very professional and provide a lot of information, we did 7 day safari trip on 3 different hotels and was amazing. I highly recommend it to other travelers looking for a street free trip and a good value.

Absolutely the best safari ever
We have just returned from the most incredible safari we could have imagined, and Beyond the Borders has everything to do with it.
First, a heartfelt shout-out to Alex – without his golden tip, we would never have found this absolute gem. Alex, we are eternally grateful to you! 🙏
But then there is John. Our tour guide, our personal wilderness expert. This man is simply the best in his field. His knowledge of the animals is encyclopedic – at every sighting, he could immediately tell us what we saw, why it was special, and supplemented it all with stories you simply won't forget. He spotted things we would never have seen ourselves, drove off-road with surgical precision, and searched until we saw exactly what he wanted us to see.
He was also a real star for our daughter – patient, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to explain everything.
This was no ordinary vacation. This was an experience we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. 10/10, without a doubt. If you are even slightly considering going on safari: book Beyond the Borders, ask for John, and prepare yourself for something that exceeds all expectations.

I had an amazing time in Kenya! There were some communication issues with the office staff but it all worked out at the end. Ian and I were a great match because we are both extroverts. As a solo traveler, he was very fun, professional, and really went the extra mile to make this trip memorable!

Choosing Beyond the Plains for our safari tour was one of the best decisions we made. From the planning stage of the safari until the very last day, they supported us in every possible way. They have such friendly, warm, and welcoming staff that they made us feel completely at home.
Especially our guide, Ben, became much more than just a guide to us — he felt like a true friend. I would especially like to thank him for all of his support, his kindness, and for making this experience absolutely flawless and unforgettable for us.

Fantastic
From start to finish this has been a truly fantastic experience. Recommended by a friend and so glad we used these guys. From 1st email to drop off back in Nairobi this was a stress free experince. Dan was the best driver/ guide and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. He put up with my false animal sighting and being told to acha alot. (Stop). Accommodation and food has been brilliant. Fav has been serena sweetwater and Zebra Royal. . Serena was fav overall due to seeing Rhino, zebra , giraffe and buffalo all within 5mins of being there and i loved sleeping in the tent. ( they put hotwater bottles in the bed at night). Dan found us lion cubs, cheetah, lepard and all the others in btween. This has been the most magestical ( kiwi word lol) holiday ive ever done. Cant wait to come back. Ol pajeta and Masi Mara are the best reserves in my opinion. Xo

Perfectly planned Safari and Beach Vacation
I went through discussions with several Safari agencies before eventually deciding to go with ‘Beyond the Plains’, primarily because of their immediate responsiveness and really curating the trip to fit our needs and requirements.
The trip was perfectly planned and Andrew was available at all times to answer any concerns or questions, even during the trip itself allowing us to pivot, change itinerary details and extend our stay.
From the accommodations to the dietary requirements, everything was booked as per our expectations and on raising a concern about a mild frustration with a room, it was immediately taken care of.
Beyond the Plains has restored my faith in depending on a travel agency to plan a vacation.
The safari itself was immaculately arranged and in a single all day safari, our guide Duncan helped us view all the animals giving detailed explanations and characteristics of each such that it wasn’t touch and go but quite informative as well.
The Diani beach was the perfect second half and by virtue of getting a few hours of layover at NBO, Andrew helped arrange visits to Nairobi National Park where we got to see the white rhinos, the elephant orphanage and the Giraffe Center making it the perfect end.
10/10 would recommend. Also for future travellers you can communicate your exact needs so that it is a personalised experience like ours was.
