Unforgettable experience
5/5

I was in touch with Mr Otieno for the planning of the safari. He is extremely responsive and very helpful. From fee quote to travel details to payments, all is done smoothly as instructions were clearly given.
Benson was our guide during the safari. He is a very nice guide and we were very luck to have him. The whole journey was extremely smooth. And the details of the trip fall within the expectation of the Safari range that we have selected. In Maasai Mara, it only took us half a day to find the big five!Benson had also given a lot of very useful advice on our travel in Kenya. We also enjoyed very much the walking safari at the crater lake as well as a lovely lunch by the lake. We had very nice souvenirs of this trip and would recommend Kenya walking Survivors to our friends.
We definitely hope to return at the earliest possible occasion.

Great trip!
5/5

It was amazing to see the wildlife in close range in their natural habitat. Our guide Benson was very good at finding them. He was careful to give the animals enough space so they were comfortable to carry on naturally. Very professional and responsible.

Impressive
5/5

I read the good reviews of the company before my booking so my expectations were pretty high. I am not disappointed at all. My favorite moment was eating breakfast at Elsamere and watching a giraffe saunter by...

Great memory for our whole family!
5/5

Our family of four went on a 10-day safari late June - early July and it was a wonderful experience. Our guide is Benson and we could not have asked for a better guide. Benson is very knowledgeable about wildlife, added so much to our experience with stories and anecdotes to help us to understand what we saw, always informative and often hilarious. During the trip, my husband was unwell (for reasons unrelated to the trip) for a few days. Benson, supported by Mr. Otieno, helped us every possible way. Despite the unexpected difficulties, we still had a wonderful trip. Our sons rated this trip the best of all their trips so far!!! Thank you Benson and thank you Mr. Otieno!!!

Stanley Rua was a perfect guide
5/5

This was our first safari. The reservation process was easy and the response to our emails was fast. We got picked up at our hotel in nairobi and we got dropped off at another hotel when the safari was over. We had a great experience with Rua and Moses (guide and cook). We visited Amboseli, Nakuru and Masai Mara (Kenya) during 7 days and we were very confortable and happy with them. Rua is a great driver and guide and Moses made really good meals. My husband and I enjoyed both the safari and their company. We saw so many amazing things and Rua was always trying his best to take us to the best spots. We had a great time. Thank you

Superior customer focused local business with expert safari guides
5/5

I was very happy with my solo safari of 15 days that I organised with Mr.Otieno ('OT'). All my dealings with OT via email prior to my trip were promptly answered and on arrival at Nairobi after meeting my guide Albert I was taken to meet OT which I gather is what he does with all his clients. I found this very refreshing, OT was genuinely interested in ensuring that I had a great holiday.

Prior to selecting KWSS I had struggled in finding a safari that covered what I wanted. The big group trips seemed rushed and of poorer value. My single supplement was very reasonable with KWSS, and the safari that I had selected covered the key game parks in both countries well without the time wasting of backtracking (this is very important - google map the distances between the parks for driving time).

I had two very experienced guides - Albert in Kenya and Modi in Tanzania. Both are locals who know their parks as experts. My route to Samburu, across to Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha then to the Masai Mara was terrific. Then I crossed the border in Tanzania at Isebania then directly to the Serengeti (this saved a day unlike most trips that takes the very long way via Nairobi to get between these two parks). Then onto the fabulous Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, Arusha, the Kilimanjaro slopes and across the border to the fabulous Amboseli in Kenya to get the elusive elephants with Mt Kilimanjaro in the background photo (Success!). All up a wonderful trip with fabulous friendly and humble people throughout with very good accomodation that exceeded my expectations ('glamping' in several of the big game parks was special). Via OT I also chose to book the balloon flight in the Masai Mara - I'm so pleased I did, I'll always remember the flight and new friends I made.

10-day safari across Kenya & Tanzania
5/5

My friends and I did the 10-day Masaai Explorer Safari through Kenya and Tanzania. We researched dozens of Safari companies and found KWSS to be the best value. Mr OT was super friendly and easy to deal with, answering every one of my very many questions. Mr OT also changed the itinerary slightly for us, to fit within our budget. After seeing all the other tour groups around the parks, we felt we’d definitely made the right choice and chose the best one. All the accommodation and food across the trip was very good. We most enjoyed Mara Camp, Carnelleys Camp, Kibo Camp, & Savannah Camp.

Kenya:
We had the most incredible experience through all the national parks in Kenya. We saw a huge number of animals in our first 2 days at Masaai Mara, including Lions, leopard, cheetah, elephants, heaps of giraffe & zebra, loads of different antelope varieties.
Our guide- Rueben was the best guide and friend we could have ever hoped for. Highly recommend asking for him if you are booking! He went above and beyond to take us to the big animals and teach us everything he knows. He even helped us change the schedule mid-way through the safari so that we could see the flamingos at Lake Bogoria (which we had not originally chosen).

Tanzania:
The guides must changeover at the border, so after crossing we were picked up by our new guide. The process feels a bit different on the Tanzania side and utilises the Tanzania office, rather than the Kenya office with Mr OT. We found we had many mistakes and miscommunications during the Tanzanian side of the Safari, and we’re glad we spent 7days in Kenya and only 3days in Tanzania. We felt our guide didn’t know the schedule and therefore we werent entirely sure what was happening most days. The parks in Tanzania were not as abundant with animals or scenery, in fact Serengeti is very baron and has barely even a tree to look at, let alone animals. Personally I’d skip the Serengeti and spend more time at the Kenyan parks in future.

Overall, we had an amazing time and our Safari was something we’ll never forget. Highly recommend choosing Kenya Walking Survivors. Also remember you can pay much more for a ‘luxury’ safari and think you’re getting more but at the end of the day, all the Safari cars are in the same park seeing the same animals together.

Awesome Wildlife and Cultural Experience
5/5

I went to the "7 day migration of wilderbeast maasai mara and lake nakuru park" safari at the end of June 2018.
Since the very beginning, I had a very good impression of the travel agency, as they always replied to my emails in a timely and professional manner. The experience got better and better as I landed in Nairobi, where I was welcomed by the Kenya Walking Survivors Safaris staff, and greeted by Mr Otieno in person.
Perhaps most notably, I was really awed by the professionalism, expertise and good spirit of George, our safari guide. He really made me live unforgettable moments from day 1, and always strived to provide a personal touch to the safari and customize the journey to my needs; for instance making some deviation in the journey if I had to buy something, or staying longer in one or the other park if I wanted to.
Mr Otieno, you are lucky to have such a great guide in your team!
