Exceeding expectations every day again!
We booked a six day safari in Tanzania, followed by a week in Zanzibar for our family of four (two kids, 16 and 12), and everything was just perfect. From the assistance in planning and booking, with agents that really knew what they were talking about and what would fit our wishes, to the perfect planning and beautiful places and hotels we went, every day again we were just impressed and extremely happy with the trip. Some examples, they really helped us to pick the right destinations for the safari, the perfect calm and private location on Zanzibar, and we had a permanent online travel agent to support us if we had any questions. The logistics were flawless and the hotels and lodges jawdroppingly beatiful. A special shout out to our guide, Daniel, from Easy Travel (part of Matoke), who was extremely kind, expert, got us to the perfect spots for animal spotting, and was also very kind and relaxed and great with the kids (Daniel, Baboom!). Having such a really great guide is really important as you spend a lot of time together and as you really depend on him.
In short: totally recommended on every level!!

The eight weeks could not be better
We prepared the 8 weeks trip to Madagascar together with Matoke based on our wishes (16/9 – 10/11/25). First, we travelled 5 weeks south of Tana, in self drive mode, and afterwards 3 weeks, with driver, in the North. Matoke proposed places to stay which, after checking, were confirmed. Together we fixed the excursions and dynamics. We have travelled all our life in Africa, South America, Nepal, often linked to our work in these regions, but Matoke set the bar with our Madagascar trip so high, that our standards for the future travels will be at the top. We will most probably travel again with Matoke and we are curious if they can still put the bar higher, but if they keep up with Madagascar, they will have again very satisfied clients. In 8 weeks in a country like Madagascar (which is so beautiful and where the people’s smile is like a drug) we did not have the slightest inconvenience, something that we think is statistically impossible, but Matoke made it work. ‘Chapeau’, they say in French.

Unforgettable Uganda and excellent tour guides
Our journey through Uganda was a revelation. What an incredibly diverse and beautiful country! From the endless green landscapes and misty forests to the vibrant villages and warm-hearted people — Uganda touched us deeply.
The wildlife was, of course, breathtaking: meeting the mountain gorillas and chimpanzees was an absolute highlight. But what surprised me most was the abundance of smaller life — the countless colourful birds, butterflies, and tiny creatures that make this country so alive. As someone with a special love for birds, I was truly amazed by what we saw each day.
A heartfelt thank-you goes to our two driver-guides, Geoffrey and Edwin. Geoffrey’s knowledge of birds and nature was simply outstanding — he spotted species I would never have noticed without him. Edwin, too, shared his impressive understanding of the country, its landscapes and wildlife, and added a calm warmth that made every drive a pleasure. Together they showed us not only Uganda’s extraordinary nature, but also the soul of its people.
Uganda is rightly called “The Pearl of Africa.” Its beauty, diversity, and kindness make it one of the most memorable destinations we’ve ever visited — an experience I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone.

Excellent flexible and committed travel organization
Our guide in Uganda, Robbert, his care and passion made this trip magical.
Magical? Yes! Magical? Yes. Uganda, if you want to see all of Africa in one country, Uganda is the place to be. It is true that every African country has his or her specialties. But Robbert let us experience: Uganda has it all.
A trip taken care of down to the last detail. Everything you can imagine from a Safari included it and more. Seeing nature in the amount of different animals in their natural habitat is beautiful. The beauty in the waterfalls and the vegetation, proverbially as if you imagine yourself in the Garden of Eden. But the requests that were excellently responded to to be able to have local contact with the Ugandans through gatherings such as churches and a real wedding party crasher made it really magical.
Robbert, your care and passion made this journey truly magical. From the very beginning, Matoke Tours impressed us with their flexibility, reliability, and personal approach. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, and communication was smooth throughout. We felt supported and well taken care of at every step. This wasn’t just a trip—it was an unforgettable experience crafted with heart. Highly recommended!

Great Tanzania Safari
Great Tanzania Safari
Hello,
My family and I had a very special week with our excellent driver named Elias in the north of Tanzania! Our trip and safari was really special, especially because of our driver/guide, that’s why I would recommend him. He was patient, nice and always happy. That’s why we called him Mr. Happy-Happy. He was special, and we’ll never forget this amazing trip with him, especially the great stories told by our driver and of cours the nature and the particular animals!

Wonderfull 2-weeks trip through Uganda
We booked our trip in the Netherlands with Kazuri Safaris who uses the service of Matoke Tours in Uganda. The trip was very well organized. Our guide, Trevor, took good care of us during the entire trip. His driving skills are excellent. Thanks to his knowledge, we learned a lot about the wildlife, culture and nature in Uganda. He surprised us many times with nice picknicks and even a celebration cake. Since all was taken care of, we had nothing to worry about and could fully enjoy our time in Uganda.

excellent organisation and very good guides
We went to Kenya for 6 days and our guide was Simon. He showed us the most beautiful places. Sometimes we were just a few meters from lions, elephants Hyena's etc. He learned us a lot of Kenya. He had all the time for us and we made beautiful pictures.
Then we went for 10 days Tanzania. We again had a very good guide named Adrian. He told us a lot of Tanzania and he listened very well to what we especially wanted to see. On every question he had an answer. One day he was constantly talking with someone because he wanted to show us a leopard. It was in the Serengety and it was very difficult to find it. Eventually he managed. Also the Rhino was succesfully found, so we completed the big five. Also the lodges were great and amazing views.
We had a wonderful adventur, thanks to Matoke and our guides Simon and Adrian.

Amazing trip toUganda with Matoke
In April this year, I had the most incredible solo one-week private trip to Uganda, organized by Matoke Tours, and I can't recommend them enough! From start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional.
My guide, Mike, was absolutely amazing. He was not only knowledgeable about the local wildlife, history, and culture, but his passion for Uganda was evident in every conversation. His professionalism, friendly demeanor, and attention to detail made my trip so much more enriching. He truly went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible.
The itinerary they put together for me was fantastic. We trekked through the stunning Kibale Forest for chimpanzee trekking, and the experience was truly unforgettable. Then, we headed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for gorilla trekking—an experience that surpassed all expectations. Being up close with these incredible creatures in their natural habitat was nothing short of magical.
The accommodations were top-notch, and every lodge we stayed at was comfortable, welcoming, and offered amazing food. The meals were delicious and varied, catering to all dietary needs, and the views from the lodges were breathtaking.
Matoke Tours did an outstanding job organizing every detail of the trip, from the seamless logistics to the excellent customer service. They truly made my dream trip to Uganda a reality. If you're looking for a memorable, hassle-free African adventure, I highly recommend Matoke Tours. I can’t wait for my next trip with them!

Perfect discovery of Uganda
Sadly, our journey to Uganda has now come to an end, but we’re left with truly wonderful memories. A huge thank you to Matoke for organising this trip for us. The preparation was flawless. We made a few additional adjustments to the programme, and all suggestions were communicated promptly and clearly.
From the moment we arrived in Uganda, we felt completely taken care of. Everything was handled on our behalf. Special thanks must go to our guide, Mike, who was kindness personified. He kept us well-informed every step of the way, letting us know what was on the schedule, when and where to be ready, what to wear, where we would dine, etc.
Mike navigated us with ease, finding his way perfectly wherever we went, even on bumpy dirty roads. It was impressive. And everyone knew him, even hundreds of kilometres from his home. He was clearly a beloved figure. How many times did we hear someone say, “He’s my brother from another mother”?
The car was immaculately clean every morning, no matter how muddy we’d left it from our adventures the previous day. Each morning, it was like new again.
As for what we saw—those experiences will stay with us forever. We encountered so many wild animals up close: gorillas, chimpanzees, baboons, smaller primates, zebras, antelopes, hippos, buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, warthogs, crocodiles, and countless birds.
In short: a trip we’ll never forget.
Matoke, well done.
And Mike, thank you, thank you, thank you!
