Incredibly helpful and attentive!
The safari was amazing (Simbavati Waterside) and Kathi was super helpful getting things organized. We had some travel hiccups and she was super helpful in adjusting plans mid-trip. Would not use anyone else!

Excellent rip from start to finish!
We recently returned from an exceptional family journey through South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe, all flawlessly arranged by Africa Welcome Safaris. From the outset, Kathi and her team demonstrated a deep understanding of the region and an impressive ability to curate a trip that felt both seamless and refined. Every detail — flights, luxury accommodations, private transfers with drivers, a well-planned self-drive segment, and unforgettable safari experiences — was perfectly coordinated and prepaid, allowing us to travel without a single logistical concern. The itinerary flowed effortlessly across three countries, with excellent pacing and thoughtful transitions throughout. They saved me lots of time & effort in trip planning, and my family had a wonderful trip to Africa!
As a person who never uses travel agents, I turned to Africa Welcome Safaris as I found myself somewhat overwhelmed by the prospect of planning a trip to Africa on my own from the USA with no help and a lot of logistical hurdles going to places I had never been before. So following Fodors recommendation, I reached out to Africa Welcome Safaris, and they gave me a great proposed itinerary for the places I wanted to go within a price range that worked for me. This saved me lots of time and effort, and they answered all the questions that I asked during the planning process. They also arranged all Africa airplane transit (of which there was a lot) and tour guides for my family in advance, and everything went according to plan on the trip itself! We loved all of the places we stayed, including the Kapama River Lodge private game reserve next to Kruger and the Victoria Falls Safari Club, which were just delightful and also had delicious food! Overall, we had an amazing trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe, and I am very happy that I used Africa Welcome Safaris and highly recommend them! They definitely made it easier to plan this major trip.

Kathi planned an incredible trip for us that was executed perfectly without a single hitch. Every tour was fantastic, allowing us to see everything imaginable while still providing enough downtime to relax without feeling like we missed a thing. The friendly and professional guides she selected were top-notch, and the Safari camps were simply amazing—we saw almost every animal, except the rhinos! We also loved the itinerary app, which was awesome for sharing our real-time location and activities with family back home. Kathi was absolutely amazing to work with! From the beginning she was super helpful, gave us great guidance and advice since it was our first time going on safari, and was super flexible to make sure the trip was exactly what we wanted! Shortly before our trip there was a fire at one location we were scheduled to stay at and within hours Kathi had put together a backup plan, done all communication between the transportation and accommodation agencies and ensured our trip remain completely seamless. Every detail was taken care of from the minute we landed: every transport, accommodation, activities, spa treatments, etc so we truly only had to relax and enjoy once we were there! We have recommended her to all our friends and family and I cannot wait to book another vacation through Kathi!

Efficient, super responsive, hugely knowledgeable and genuinely nice.
Our trip last month was the second time we have worked with African Welcome Safaris and Kathi in particular. We spent 5 days in Capetown and 4 more on safari at the beautiful Savanna Lodge in the Kruger. Kathi worked with us to put together a tailor made itinerary in double quick time - the speed and quality of her response, general communication and knowledge based recommendations is second to none. This is never at the cost of quality and reliability - every trip we made ran on time, our tour guides and drivers were friendly and informative and internal logistics were spot on. A special mention for Skukuza Airport - one of the coolest we have ever visited!
Africa Welcome Safaris is not a low budget tour operator but that's because it goes the extra mile to put together a personal, customised, and tailor made set of experieces. We wanted to do Table Mountain without major queues; we hoped to see the Big Marine 5 via the Hermanus Whale boat; we certainly hoped to crack the big 5 on safari. All missions accomplished, some more than once! That's value (and lifelong memories) for money!
We have no hesitation in recommending African Welcome Safaris and Kathi to any traveller seeking real experiences.

A trip of a lifetime
Kathi of African welcome Safaris is amazing!!! From the beginning of our planning until the final itinery, kathi was there answering email questions after email questions and always willing to suggest and accept our changes to the trip. her attention to detail and coordinating flights, hotels etc was unmatched. Our accomdations, private driver Kegan in Capetown were great. The cherry on top of the trip was our stay at Leopard Lodge, where the rooms were spectacular and the staff top shelf. Our safari leaders, Justin, Dieter and tracker Colin made our safari excursions a life long dream.
Kathi and team were the best and we highly recommend them....
