Likana Safaris provide an excellent safari at a reasonable cost backed up by very supportive staff
Likana Safaris arranged and delivered an excellent safari. Michelle and Bonny responded quickly to all queries. The arrangements proved to be exactly as expected including the type of room requested in each lodge. Michelle met us on the first day at the hotel in Kampala while Bonny met us on our final day to obtain feedback and ideas from us.
The star of Likana was David our driver and guide. He contacted us to introduce himself by WhatsApp before we left the UK and was waiting for us at Entebbe airport. Throughout the 2 weeks with us David was extremely helpful and proved very knowledgeable about Uganda and its wildlife. He ensured we saw the “big 5” animals and, given my age and having two hip replacement operations in the previous four months, negotiated to ensure our trek to find the gorilla family was relatively short.
Spending an hour with the gorillas at very close quarters was the highlight of the safari and would have been the highlight of any safari in Africa.
Uganda is a very beautiful country and Likana arranged for us to see its people, wildlife and countryside at very reasonable cost.
A truly memorable safari and holiday.

The trip of a lifetime
In July, my wife and I went on a 12-day trip to Rwanda and Uganda, which was the best trip of our lives so far—and we’ve been to many places. Getting in touch with Likana Safaris was easy; Michelle and Bonny were flexible in handling our specific requests and continued to assist us with everything even after the booking was made, leading up to the trip. Upon our arrival, we met Henry Ssenteza at the Kigali airport, and we could tell right away that he would be a great guide and friend to us during our time there. And so the adventure began. Rwanda proved to be a great start, as the shorter distances made acclimatization easier, and the golden colobus monkey trek was a good warm-up before the bigger challenges. Uganda, however, proved to be a step up in terms of both the adventures and the activities. The gorilla and chimpanzee treks turned out to be truly once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and the rich and fascinating wildlife safaris revealed the grandeur and power of nature. In addition, our encounters with local communities were extremely interesting, giving us a glimpse into their lives. Likana booked fantastic accommodations for us, where we were able to encounter the animals up close, and Henry responded well to all of our individual requests. Over dinner, we had great conversations about Uganda, nature, and local points of interest. At the end of the trip, we even got to see the rhinos and visit the source of the Nile, so despite the eventful journey, we had no desire to go home—we’d just had the experience of a lifetime. Likana Safari played a huge part in this, and I highly recommend this company for exploring East Africa. We also can’t leave out our guide and friend, Henry Ssenteza, who went above and beyond to make the trip even more successful and handled all our problems immediately. He was fun, relaxed, and would go outta his way to insure we had a good time
We started in Entebbe and made our way to bwindi, on the way our guide stopped at several places for pictures, to stretch our legs, then we made it to bwindi later in the night, the next day we went looking for the gorillas and let me tell you if you like to climb you’ll love it but depending on your physical condition it may be hard, but it’ll be worth it when you manage to reach the family you are with for the hour, after the gorillas we went to murchison falls national park for our safari game drive, we first stopped at the famous falls themselves and oh let me tell you it’s not something you want to miss, it is a beautiful and amazing view that pictures and videos alone don’t do justice for it, the following day we went to do a game drive and boat cruise, we seen all the big 5 animals of Africa except for the leopard but it was still a fun experience, for our morning drive our guide even managed to find the lions before anyone else seen them, and the boat drive where we seen many hippos, crocks, and more elephants, all together it was a amazing experience I highly suggest doing, the guides are kind and will make sure you enjoy your time with them

We had an absolutely amazing safari experience from start to finish. The value for money was incredible — everything exceeded our expectations considering the price. David, our guide was extremely professional, but at the same time very warm, personal, and genuinely caring, which made the experience feel special and unique.
As well as was fantastic, always making sure we were comfortable and doing everything possible for us to see as much wildlife as possible. You could really feel the passion and dedication throughout the entire trip.

Our weekend safari trip to Murchison Falls was absolutely unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing guide, David. From start to finish, he was incredibly professional, organized and flexible, making sure everything ran smoothly.
We were a group of 8 students, and he was extremely patient with us throughout the entire trip, always keeping a positive attitude and making sure everyone felt comfortable and included. He also made us feel very safe at all times, which allowed us to fully relax and enjoy the experience.
He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed - great food, drinks and an overall fantastic experience. David was always open to our requests and adapted the trip to suit us, which made it feel very personal.
His eye for spotting wildlife was seriously impressive - especially when it came to finding lions! Thanks to him, we got to experience some truly special moments.

Flawless experience, from start to finish
We had an absolutely incredible safari experience, truly unforgettable from start to finish. Even though we booked quite last minute, everything was handled flawlessly, and the service was a solid 10/10.
A special thank you to David, who made the whole trip exceptional. He was not only an extremely knowledgeable guide but also genuinely kind and attentive. From the very beginning, he made sure we felt comfortable, and he went above and beyond to accommodate every single request we had.
What really stood out was how effortless everything felt for us. The tour operator took care of all the bookings and logistics so we didn’t have to worry about anything at all. Having all meals included was also a huge plus and made the experience even more relaxing.
In just three days, we managed to see almost all the animals in the park, which exceeded our expectations. We even asked for an extra game drive, and David still found a way to fit it into the schedule without making us feel rushed.

Likana safaris listen to what you want and then provide an excellent itinerary
My sister and I have just returned from a wonderful 15 day holiday in Uganda traveling around the lakes and game parks. We were met at Entebe airport promptly by Bonny the managing director and David who was our driver/guide and they both gave us a very warm welcome.
The itinerary was planned thoughtfully and David was reliable and ensured that everything went smoothly. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with everything. His expert knowledge enabled him to spot and explain about more animals and birds than we knew existed!!!!
The Rhino chimpanzee and gorilla treking were amazing as were the game drives.
All the different lodges we stayed in were clean and well appointed and the staff were friendly and helpful.
David gave us his mobile number and we could contact him at any time.
The whole holiday was amazing and great value for money.
We even saw the shoebill whilst canoeing in the swamp before heading to the airport to return home.
It was definitely good value for money. If I went again I would take small gifts for the children who waited by the roadside in the more remote areas and asked for sweets
