Simply amazing, truly unforgettable
We booked a two-day luxury honeymoon safari from Zanzibar to Tarangire and Ngorongoro with Akondo Adventures, and it was absolutely brilliant from start to finish.
The booking process was super easy and Boris organised everything perfectly and gave us all the details we needed. Unfortunately there is an additional charge for card payment which meant an overall higher cost, but not a big issue. We were collected from our hotel in Zanzibar, took a short flight to Arusha, and were met by our amazing guide Richard, who looked after us for the full two days.
Richard was an excellent driver with immense knowledge of wildlife, birds, and plants. He spoke perfect English. He made sure we always had plenty of time for photos and did everything possible to help us spot as many animals as we could. The highlight for us was seeing a black rhino in Ngorongoro and witnessing two ostriches mating up close, quite the spectacle! We also saw lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, cougars, and so, so much more. He taught us so much about the Maasai people and life in Tanzania, and was such a pleasure to spend time with.
The hot picnic lunches were delicious, a tasty curry with side dishes, plus a selection of drinks. Richard made sure we were always comfortable and could stop for the WC whenever needed.
Our overnight stay at Escarpment Luxury Lodge was very special. The setting was breathtaking, the staff were so kind and attentive, and our lodge suite with its freestanding bath was stunning. The food was top-notch, and the evening Maasai entertainment made it even more special, the whole atmosphere was unforgettable.
This trip truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience, yet we already want to come back to explore the Serengeti and luxury camping safari next time, and we wouldn’t choose anyone other than Akondo Adventures to guide us again!

Unnaceptable and Offensive behavior
We hoped that after our extensive and detailed communication, everything would be as we accepted with «akondo adventures».
Despite the fact that we had no experience from safari when we chosen a 3-day vacation during our zanzibar holiday, given that there were many other travel organizations in the same areas, we easily understand that our vehicle was not in a very good condition for comfort on off-road roads.
However, by the second day, this problem was overcome thanks to our guide, athoos, who deserves our thanks, as he was knowledgeable of the environment and the opportunities for miracles at every point, plus he was extremely kind and voluntary.
However, on the 2nd day, at the end of our trip, and while the guide was taking us to our hotel (mawe mawe manyara lodge), we accidentally realized that it was not the one we had approved and booked!
We asked Innocent to contact the manager asap. The answer he gave us was that our hotel was overbooked at the last minute and they would transfer us to another.
When we moved to the new hotel, depressed and absolutely angry, we realized that this had nothing to do with the quality, location and services of what was agreed and paid in full 5 months ago.
The manager refused to answer our continuous phone calls and told their guide that he didn't want to talk to us!
So without having any other solution we were forced to stay with what he offered us...
The next day, at the airport for our return, the manager appeared spontaneously, apologized and proposed a refund of our accommodation in order to avoid a bad rating!
We asked his request to be put in writing. in his written response, we were surprised to read that he falsely claimed that the change happened the previous time (the guide had printed out the day's program in the morning...), that he mistake did not inform us as he should have..., and that the refund amount he intended to pay was not even 10% of the total cost of the 3-day safari.
His unacceptable and offensive behavior was worse than the fraud we were endured to.
We suggest that every interested tourist enterprise include penalty clauses in every agreement with the agreeing companies and certainly not to proceed to a full advance payment of 100% of the value.

Great experience, our driver and guide Baraka took great care of us. 3-day safari for couples, 2 days at the Tarangire reserve and 1 day at the N'gorongoro crater. Thanks to Boris for his organization.

Everything was amazing
They arranged everything for us (transfer to one accomodation to another), they picked us from our hotel in Arusha and made our safari very comfortable and tailored for our needs and desires. Our very kind guide, Richard, informed us about the wild life, he asked us what was important for us and he made the possible and beyond to allow us to see the big 5 (and we did!also the rhino that is very rare to see). At the same time we were very safe for the whole time.
The accomodations were very beautiful with good food and they were careful about food allergies. We slept surrounded by buffalos and other animals.

Very efficient company that listened to our needs.
We had a great experience with Akondo Adventures. Richard, our guide, was very good and managed to show us all big 5 animals! We know it isn’t easy to see rhinos, but we did! The accommodations were all great. They do not have WiFi in the rooms though. I wasn’t sure about the food since I wear braces, but it was really good everywhere. Highly recommend!

AMAZING TOUR
We had an incredible 4-day safari through Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater.
The organization by Akondo was perfect — they adapted everything to our needs and made the trip seamless.
