John is simply the best. Hands down one of my best travel experiences.
Booking a safari is a big deal. And so much of it depends on the trust you build with your guide before and during the experience. John made our trip one of the best we’ve ever taken - and we’ve traveled a lot.
He’s professional, friendly, and - importantly - knows what he’s doing. He’s a trained guide, when many of the others are drivers without the knowledge of nature. He consistently found the best spots all while respecting nature and the animals. On safari, this is so important to the experience - we all want those great shots, but it can’t come at the expense of blocking animals from hunting or stressing them out. John got us the amazing up close moments while keeping a profound respect for the parks and its animals. It felt so good to come away knowing that we did it right. That’s thanks to John.
Additionally, he’s warm and friendly and open. We got so lucky - and you’d be so lucky to be reading this right now and choose him :)

Our exciting vacation began with Wilderness Insight Safari right at the airport in Arusha…
Our eventful vacation began with Wilderness Insight Safari, right at the airport in Arusha. We received a warm welcome from John and got to know each other very well on the short drive to the hotel; it was very informal and trusting. We also received initial information about the itinerary for the next day and spent the night in the first hotel/bungalow on the outskirts of Arusha. The next morning, our tour began in Tarangire National Park. On the drive there, which took about two hours, John told us a lot about his country, Tanzania. Upon arriving at the national park, we saw giraffes, wildebeest, elephants, zebras, and many other animals for the first time – fantastic. There was plenty of time everywhere to observe and photograph the animals. In the afternoon, we drove to the lodge hotel, which was located directly on Lake Manyara. An incredibly beautiful accommodation surrounded by wild nature. The next day took us to Norongoro Crater National Park. The drive was very adventurous, especially into the crater. However, it's unimaginable that this is an extinct volcano, densely populated and a habitat for thousands of animal species. In addition to the animals mentioned above, we observed lions, rhinos, hippos, flamingos, and countless other species here. Our highlights were the marriage of two lions, a lioness with cubs, and a lioness hunting a wildebeest.
The drive out of the crater was just as exciting and fascinating as the drive into it. At the end, there was a lookout point with a magnificent view over the crater. We then drove to the next lodge hotel in the late afternoon, where we were welcomed by Maasai.
John was always responsive to our requests; we had plenty to talk about, making the long drives very entertaining. He is very open-minded and trustworthy. He always had plenty of breaks and sufficient food for us. We didn't really have to worry about anything else, so we could fully enjoy our vacation. The five-day stay was definitely too short for this wonderful country. We will definitely come back again and continue our journey with Wilderness Insight Safari.

Unforgettable Experience !
We went on Safari for 5 days with Wilderness Insights and it was a pleasure for the whole time. Our guide John helped us to see so much of the fascinating african wildlife. He was always willing to adapt to spontaneous wishes and changes of plans of us. Furthermore, he told us a lot of interesting facts about the wildlife and Culture in Tanzania. We all really liked him and i can fully recommend booking a tour here. The accomodations, the food, the experiences- it couldn‘t have been any better and i Hope to repeat this wonderful experience in the future!
