I expected this to be the vacation of a lifetime. Moriti Safaris exceeded every expectation!!!
5/5

I was completely unprepared for Moriti Safari. I had mentally readied myself for the usual hustle and chaos that comes with most vacations as you try to maximize your experience in the limited time available. But the thoughtful planning by Shaun and William, precision execution by Liana and Jan, and the culinary masterpieces created by Lindsay left me speechless. We were under the caring and watchful eye of William from day one (especially my 5 year old daughter whom I think adopted William) all the way through the trip, and even to our departure flight. I returned home feeling relaxed, fulfilled, and in awe of the beautiful world of South Africa that they so lovingly introduced me to. I feel I now have an adopted family in Moriti Safari and I cannot thank them enough for taking such great care of us. The weather in early April was perfect! Cool mornings and warm sunny afternoons. We will be back! (But with much less luggage next time

Excellent Photography Tour
5/5

One of the best South African photo tours I have been on!
If you want privacy from people on game drives (you will be the only vehicle on a sighting),this tour is a must! The camps/lodges are at the top in my book and the private chef who will cook all your meals is 5 STAR!
Shaun is a VERY knowledgable guide who understands animal behavior, tracking wild animals, and the ecosystems of the Klaserie, and Kruger NP. Your safety is also his number one priority when you are on foot tracking animals...which is awesome to be able to do. He understands how photographers work in the field and how demanding we can be at times. Do not hesitate...book a tour with Shaun Taylor of Moriti Private Safaris.. After taking this trip, I consider Shaun a close friend and working partner. I will continue to do all my trips with Moriti Private Safaris and look forward to my next photographic adventure with Shaun.

Amazing Safari with Moriti Private Safaris
5/5

We just returned from an absolutely amazing and memorable Safari with Shaun at Moriti Private Safaris. We saw the Big 5 in both Kruger National Park and the Klaserie Private Reserve along with many, many other animals, including the very rare Sable Antelope and wild dogs at Kruger. On several safari drives, Shaun proved himself to be an incredible and thoroughly knowledgeable tracker. He was able to track and find a leopard and several lions to find us the perfect viewing angles while other safari guides struggled for a sighting. The accommodations at both Kruger Park Lodge and Nyeleti at Klaserie Private Reserve were fantastic. At the Kruger Lodge, we saw Hippo, Nyala, and Impala practically in our back yard. At the Klaserie Nyeleti guest house, we were surrounded by Klipspringers, Warthogs, Nyala, Impala, Kudu, and Baboons on the grounds. We also saw a Leopard they liked to call Princess stroll by us at night while we were sitting by the campfire. All the while, we were confident that we were safe both inside camp and while on safari because of Shaun’s incredible knowledge of the animals and their behavior. Shaun additionally arranged for a wonderful close-up with the elephants at the elephant encounter.

We also had an amazing personal chef throughout our stay. Chef Lindsay prepared outstanding gourmet meals along with safari lunch and breakfast packs so we could maximize our time in the bush with the animals. We also had an authentic and delicious South African Braai (barbecue) cooked by Shaun and Lindsay. At the Klaserie Private Reserve, we enjoyed the company of Shaun’s fantastic tracker, Vusi, who assisted in finding animals on the morning and evening safari drives. We spotted dozens of animals and even did a safari walk to see the Rhino up close.

Just about every time we suggested an animal we were interested in seeing, Shaun was able to track and find the animal on the safari drive. Though you cannot guarantee to see the animals that you want as they are living in the wild and on the roam for food, we were so fortunate with Shaun’s amazing skills and a bit of luck to see an amazing amount. I was amazed to learn that part of the tracking is watching and listening to the other animals around who are good tattletales of the hunters such as the leopard and lions by using specific sounds and by the way they will act in an unusual way and stare in the direction of the danger. The evening sundowners, where Shaun would take us to the perfect place to relax, have snacks, and watch the sunset in the South African bush, were also amazing.

I highly recommend to anyone considering a trip to South Africa to book a safari with Moriti Private Safaris. I travel extensively and have been to 6 of the 7 continents and can honestly say that this was most definitely the most amazing and memorable experiences of a lifetime.

Outstanding experiences with outstanding people
5/5

Following our safari with Moriti Private Safaris, we have returned to Australia with 3 enthused and animated teenagers who are all dreaming of return visits. Maurice and I first met Shaun two years ago on our own trip, so this trip in August was our second with him. It was a family holiday which included Shaun and all his staff in the Family.

Moriti Private Safaris provide outstanding quality of service and accommodation for an incredibly affordable price so we could share this wonderful experience with our 12, 14 and 16 year olds. Our trip was based on the 9 day Kruger tour, but tweaked to our wishes (an extra night at Kruger and the private game reserve). He is amazing with adults and kids, and has a broad knowledge and keen interest in learning at every opportunity with which he inspires everyone else to learn.

I would not hesitate to recommend Moriti Private Safaris to anyone looking for a professional private safari of outstanding quality.

Trip of a lifetime
5/5

This was an amazing trip. Being in Kruger among elephants, rhinos, leopards, giraffes, zebras, lions, water buffalo, warthogs, kudus, impalas - to name a few - was a surreal experience. We stayed and Nyeleti - which was fabulous. But of course the highlight was having Shaun as our guide and Lindsay as our chef - they are both passionate about what they do and as a result, this trip exceeded my expectations. I will definitely book a trip with Shaun in the future.

An awesome and authentic experience!
5/5

In honor of our 25th anniversary, my wife and I chose to celebrate with a yoga safari. Days were structured with morning and evening game drives, sandwiched around a daily yoga flow with some of the most tranquil backdrops you could imagine. Wipe away any misconceptions of roughing it in the bush. "Glamping" wouldn't do justice to the level of accommodations. Our "camp" was on par with elite hotels I have had the luxury of staying in. Shaun and his staff (Lindsay as our personal chef and Patrick as our safari tracker) were exceptional, always demonstrating professionalism and courtesy. Food was in abundance, with Lindsay serving multi-course locally inspired dishes. The detached bungalows were fully appointed.

As for the animals, the big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo) were checked off our list within the first 2 days!. We not only saw them (multiple times over!!), but witnessed them authentically. A lioness and her cubs feasting on their earlier kill. Hyenas taunting these lions in an effort to steal their meal. Watching the courtship between a male and female rhino. A herd of buffalo along with a rhino and elephant (3 of the big 5!!) at a watering hole just after sunset. A leopard protecting its meal, perched high on a rock cropping. Wildlife was in abundance beyond the big 5. Kudu, impala, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles...the list was endless. Shaun and Patrick's ability to rely upon their expert tracking skills and instincts led us not only to sighting of game, but to an authentic display of the wild.

It is this authenticity that was priceless. Sightings were never with the assistance of aerial spotters or from feedback of team members on the ground. Every encounter was driven by Shaun and Patrick's accumulated knowledge of tracking wild game in the bush. Finding a fresh track in the dirt or making note of vultures circling in the distance. For all of these reasons, and so many more, I would recommend Moriti Private Safaris!

Heavenly....
5/5

This was a trip of a lifetime. Shaun our guide/owner surpassed all expectations. His recommendations for a bread and breakfast before the safari was perfect. Our lodging at Camp George were amazing. Comfortable and private room/ facility. All 5 of us on the trip were extremely pleased with accommodations and our chef Lindsay's scrumptious meals. Shaun not only explains the flora and fauna, but his obviously love of the land made the experience so intimate. His tracking ability was insane, how he hears animals from far away was truly amazing. One reason we went with Moriti was from a previous post. Yes, when you leave you feel like you've gained a new friend. I can't wait to plan another trip to see my friend Shaun and all the Klaserie animals.

A wonderful trip of a lifetime!
5/5

We took a wonderful 7 day trip with Moriti Private Safaris with our private guide & owner Shaun Taylor. Shaun was a very friendly & informative guide and his knowledge, interest as well as love & respect for the animals was contagious. It was a prefect trip for us and our 4 teen/ young adult kids. They loved it as we did!! Learning to track & find animals, riding up front of the safari vehicle and just watching the amazing animals ( elephants, giraffe, zebra, rhino, hippos, impala, etc, etc) in their natural habitat was amazing & very special! We stayed at wonderful lodges- Angela's camp was a private sanctuary in an amazing spot over looking the Sabie river & we were treated to a roaring fire after our night drives & gourmet meals by our private chef Lindsay!! Wished we could have stayed longer!! Laughing Waters was another very special spot and we were so welcomed & cared for by the wonderful couple who owed it. They even helped my son out with his camera and made my birthday extra special!
Our only regret was not staying on safari longer & seeing lions. Thanks Shaun for a great trip!! We would love to go back & highly recommend it!!

Amazing private safaris!
5/5

My father and I booked private safaris in South Africa with Moriti Private Safaris. They were excellent. Our guide Edward was extremely knowledgeable and hospitable. I would recommend booking a private safari as you can go and see what you want, when you want. It's really not much more in cost and it's worth the price difference. I would definitely recommend Moriti to anyone. We had an amazing time!

Unforgettable 5 days in Kruger
5/5

We booked a 5-day private safari in Kruger National Park and Klaserie Private Reserve, for which we had an amazing time thanks to Shaun and his team. Every single aspect of our safari was well planned and seamlessly executed. We left Kruger with unforgettable experiences largely because they felt so genuine and personal.

Communication with Shaun from the start was easy; he’s quick to respond, flexible, and in general very helpful. Shaun really cares about his clients having the best possible all-round experience and will take the time to personalize your safari according to your needs, as he did so well with us.

Our Moriti guide Edward was fantastic, as were our hosts and staff in Klaserie. The Nzumba lodge is luxurious and by far our favourite accommodation during our time in Kruger. It’s beautifully well-maintained and provides guests with a clear view of a watering hole right next to the property. Food at the lodge was extremely delicious and plentiful. Vegetarians and vegans certainly won’t go hungry here!

The game viewing was incredible!! We saw more than we could have ever imagined, some highlights include the Big Five, white lion, wild dogs, a saddle-billed stork, and playful hyena cubs. Our game drives never felt rushed and our daily schedule was quite flexible.

Overall, the quality of service, accommodations, and meals we received from Shaun and his team were exceptional, and of great value. We would absolutely book with Moriti Private Safaris again!
