A great first safari experience and introduction to the incredible animals of South Africa!
5/5

We had an amazing time on our Moriti Safari!

Our guide William met us at the airport and then drove us out to our first stop at Tshukudu Lodge. Even though we arrived late in the day, William and our game driver made the extra effort to take us out on a game drive on our first night. Our trip coincided with an ongoing drought, but we still saw tons of animals on every game drive. It was also really great to see how much the rangers at Tshukudu cared for all of the animals on their reserve. There had been insufficient rainfall to support vegetation for grazers, so the rangers had supplied extra food and piped in water to the watering holes as necessary.

The highlight of our visit at Tshukudu was almost certainly walking with the cheetahs on the reserve on the morning of our second day. There are three cheetahs that were orphaned as cubs and grew up around humans, so cannot be released. It was truly awesome to be able to interact with a wild animal up close and to experience just how fast and how silently a cheetah can move when it is running.

One of our favorite parts of the trip was our trip to the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Center, which cares for animals that cannot be released back into the wild (injured, too comfortable around humans) and works to educate visitors about the threats to wild animal populations. Definitely a worthwhile stop!

The last part of our Safari trip was at the Klaserie lodge and wow was this place luxurious! Being so far from towns and other people was really a great experience and it made us feel like we were truly in the wild on our drives. Our camp was right next to a watering hole and we could sit out and watch elephants and warthogs come to drink during the day. We even spotted a leopard, hyena, and honeybadger on night drives (all of the guides had incredible vision!).

We were very well taken care of on this trip, and probably gained a few pounds from some delicious food at Klaserie. Our safari with Moriti was a great introduction (and re-introduction) to South Africa for us. I hope we are able to visit this beautiful place again someday!

Absolutely outstanding!
5/5

This was our first safari and was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime holiday but we're already planning on coming back, and it couldn't possibly be with anyone other than Shaun and Moriti. Everyone was so welcoming and provided a first class service, Shaun was absolutely terrific from the first email to the last day. His knowledge is phenomenal, he's always there any time of the day or night and he's great fun to be with. We saw more than we ever expected and at a much closer range than we'd hoped. We arrived as strangers and left as great friends - and we can't wait to go back.

Fantastic experience!
5/5

From the first email, Shaun was informative and helpful. We were encouraged to ask any and all questions and they were promptly answered. No questions too big or small. The actual safari was remarkable. We combined two of Moriti's safaris for a once in a lifetime experience. The individual attention and small details were a huge delight. Shaun and his Moriti team are exceptional, I recommend them to any and all.

Simply brilliant!
5/5

I am a tour operator and the owner of Jewel of Africa Safaris. I had a family of 4 who wanted to visit the Victoria Falls, Chobe and the Kruger Park. My clients are extreme nature lovers and specifically asked for a private lodge where they were the only visitors.

I booked 4 days at Shaun’s private Moriti Lodge in the Klaserie Nature Reserve. What a surprise when we arrived at this green oasis in the middle of Klaserie; an absolute gem. We were totally private as Shaun only allows one group per booking. Lindsey is the private chef for the group, or at least that is what I think her name was, but I can never forget her food; it is to die for!

Shaun stunned us with his knowledge of nature and wildlife. I had the privilege to visit safari lodges with their rangers throughout Southern- and Eastern Africa for more than 15 years and have been on the best part of probably 400 rangers’ safari vehicles while guiding for my guests. I rate Shaun as the best ranger I ever had the privilege to worked with. His passion and knowledge is unrivalled! – nobody beats Shaun!

During our trip, Shaun and his team treated us with a surprise bush dinner. It was unforgettable! I can carry on forever on the attention for detail, personal attention to everyone’s needs, etc. I just have one problem now; no other ranger and lodge will ever be the same again. Guess I have to keep on booking with Shaun. I highly recommend any person to experience what my group and I experienced with Shaun!

Perfect Kid-Friendly Safari
5/5

Shaun did such a wonderful job making us feel at home on safari. He made sure that there were kid-friendly menu choices and that my 5 and 8 year old were comfortable in every way. He tailored our days and safari drives to maximize our chances of seeing fantastic wildlife while keeping in mind our little ones schedules. I would recommend his tours to anyone, but especially anyone looking for a truly tailored experience. My eight-year-old (AKA the Bushman) says Shaun is fun, finds lots of animals, and is a good tracker. Our family's favorite part of the safari was Shaun, and we got to be with him for 11 days. We can't wait to go back.

Best Safari Ever!
5/5

Ok, so it is also our only safari experience. But that doesn't change the fact that Shaun and Moriti Safaris have ruined us for all future trips. We cannot imagine using anyone else when we go back to South Africa. Before the trip, Shaun always responded to any and all questions we had about our arrival. Once there, he was friendly, funny, excited to share his knowledge about the animals, and did everything in his power to make sure we were having a good time. He went above and beyond in his generosity. On top of that, the accommodations we enjoyed and the chef we had on hand at the private game lodge were beyond our expectations.

If you don't choose Moriti Safaris when you travel to South Africa you are missing out.

Awsome - Brilliant - Unforgettable
5/5

From the very first day of contacting Shaun Talyor of Moriti Private Safaris everything went smoothly. Our whole 10 Days went without a hitch. Not only did we have some brilliant sightings, but all the lodges Shaun picked for us were first class, and William Cooke our guide through out our stay was very knowledgable and made our tour unforgettable. I highly recommend Moriti Safaris for anybody that wants to have a Safari in South Africa.

From the first day we contacted Shaun Taylor from Moriti Safaris to our last day everything went smoothly. All our lodges picked by Shaun were first class. William Cooke our Guide could not have been more helpful and knowledgable. This was our third time to Africa, and they were by far the best organised, and caring company by far.
I would highly recommend Moriti Safaris, if you want to relaxed and be pampered while seeing the most awsome animals and scenery in South Africa.

Much more then ever expected
5/5

I was more then a little hesitant to send money to Africa for a private safari until I spoke with Shaun Taylor, owner and guide extrodinaire ! I went on what I saw in the reviews and they are SO RIGHT ON. Shaun provides a service that goes over and beyond a safari guide. He answered all my crazy questions and his sense of humor is wicked ... which went along great with our group. This was to be a bucket list trip and it was much more then that. The serene accommodations, the five star chef (Lindsay is a culinary genius) and Shaun's amazing guiding skills make this trip unforgettable. His knowledge of the "bush", the animal calls, their behaviors, and his tracking skills made the trip so much fun. Shaun is the "google" of the bush ... you have question, he has the answer. You arrive as a guest and you leave as a friend and family member. I'm already trying to figure out when I can go back "home" to South Africa.

Wilderness at it´s best - a very knoledgeable and caring guide - and 15,000 hectars exclusively!
5/5

Shaun Taylor has developed a very special and unforgettable safari experience - beyond all expectations: Two to eight people stay exclusively in a very charming private home in the Klaserie Reserve (adjacent to Kruger Park), directly on the rocky banks of the Klaserie River. Nyeleti Camp consists of four round hats with thatched roof and central building, all this in a beautiful garden with pool and fire place overlooking the river. This Paradise is located only 1 1/2 hours driving from Hoedspruit (Eastgate) Airport - safari drive almost from the aiport gate on.
Shaun and Andres, his Shangan tracker, provide very instructive and fascinating game drives and nature walks - and their guest do not have to share the animal sightings with other cars!!! Actually, during our stay, five days this time, we have not seen more than three or four cars all together.
We have not missed the - sometimes quite noisy - radio communication between a number of safari cars, which in some lodges reminds of a taxi company in a big city - but this exclusivity and tranquility here implies some tracking and a little bit of patience. Even though, we had wonderful encounters with elephants, rhinos, lions at night, a big leopard, hyenas, buffalos, kudus, a lot of bird species ...nothing to be missed. Two activities per day are included, but spontanous extra activites like setting out camera traps sometimes could tempt even an experienced safari-addict.

Back in the lodge, Lindsey cares for Shaun´s guests, Lindsey has learned her profession in some very well reputated star-restaurants, and her cooking is outstanding, fromn a tender kudu filet melting in the mouth to a vegetarian cousine which could convert the most convinced meat eater.

I would recommand this special Klaserie experience to groups of four to eight people, we have been two couples, and we had a great time. Shaun outcompetes even the most luxury lodges and thi at a very fair price.

This was our second trip with Shaun, and it will defenitively not be our last one.
