Just what we wanted for a family safari experience
5/5

I was first impressed with Moriti Private Safaris when I originally contacted them to enquire about a family holiday. Shaun responded promptly and continued to answer my various questions in a timely manner. Having seen the safari options offered I really didn't want to go with another operator. I was not disappointed. We had a wonderful week in South Africa: 2 days in Kruger and 2 days at Klaserie Private Camps with a day's travel between the two through stunning scenery. One of my requirements was for special diets for my children (one has Coeliac the other has various food allergies) and everywhere we stayed made a huge effort to cater to our needs. ln particular, the food at Klaserie was amazing! Now for the game - well, we saw all the 'Big Five' in the first day at Kruger, including a family of wild dogs, which was pretty special. But our experience at the private reserve was even more amazing, especially as ours the only vehicle in the vicinity of the animals. Our guide (Werner) was incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife, from the big game down to showing us a preying mantis nest and everything in between. Plus he always managed to find the perfect spot for sundowner drinks! I would definitely recommend Moriti Private Safaris if you are looking for an African experience.

Beyond Expectations
5/5

My wife and 4 friends went on safari with Moriti and Shaun was our guide for the 4 days. We had an amazing time at one of his bush lodges in the Klaserie and loved the privacy both at the lodge and out in the bush. We had amazing sightings of elephant, buffalo, rhino and lion, with the highlight spending time on our last morning with the cubs

It was great watching Shaun live out his passion in the bush and we have already made plans to go back in 2017, can't wait!!

Perfect once again
5/5

This was our second time traveling with Moriti Safaris and as hard as it is to believe, it topped the first. We chose to spend a day in Kruger Natl Park and then the rest of our stay was spent at a private camp in the Klaserie. Shaun, the owner and main guide, was the best. He is so knowledgeable about the animals and he uses his tracking skills to help find the Big 5 during your stay (although there is never any guarantee of course). He is on duty 24/7 to help you with anything you need during your stay and is charming, kind, and funny. The private camp is perfect as it is just your family (friends) with Shaun and some staff to make you comfortable. Lindsay, the private chef, provides so much good food during your stay that you won't want to eat for a week once you arrive home. The seclusion of the private camp, the wildlife, and Shaun make this a trip of a lifetime. One we hope to do every few years.

A bush experience second to none!
5/5

We (a party of 8 comprising two families with children) have recently returned from South Africa having enjoyed a 10 day self-catered, self-drive holiday in Marloth Park as well as a 5-night catered and guided safari arranged by Shaun from Moriti.

Having never been on a ‘proper’ safari before, we were stunned by the attendance of the team that catered for us, the beauty of the bush and the incredible knowledge of our guide, Troy. Based at Angela’s Camp / Lower River Lodge, we were fortunate enough to see the Big Five within the first two game drives! Although we only had a good sighting of the resident leopard once (and a flash of his tail on another occasion), we saw the other four every day.

The best part of our twice-daily game drives was checking in with the ‘river pride’ – a resident pride of two male lions, three females and a number of cubs – to see what they were up to. We discovered that their regular routine appears to be as follows: eat buffalo until full, sleep until hungry, repeat! Other highlights include a couple of stand-offs with elephants (expertly handled by Troy), numerous rhino sightings (including some tiny calves) and watching the incredible kamikaze display of the male red-crested korhaan (Lophotis ruficrista). Troy’s knowledge of the animals, birds, insects and trees was simply outstanding and it was a pleasure to be guided by him; he always had something interesting to point out or a funny anecdote to tell.

In between game drives and the seemingly endless amount of eating, we enjoyed swimming and relaxing on the pool deck overlooking the river below – keeping a watchful eye on all the wildlife that criss-crossed the stunning vista was a real treat.

On our last day, Shaun arranged for us to visit the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre where we got to see cheetah up close – a fine conclusion to a wonderful time in the Klaserie reserve.

If you are looking for the experience of a lifetime, Moriti will deliver!

Our Safari with Moriti was the absolute most wonderful experience of a lifetime!
5/5

From the moment we landed in Johannesburg and were met by our guide, William, until we departed from Zimbabwe, our Moriti Safari was perfect. Working with Shaun to plan our private safari was so easy---everything worked out perfectly. William was just great. He was very informative and helpful.
Really, the whole experience surpassed our expectations. We saw the Big Five right away, along with so many other animals.
At MZumba Lodge we were treated like royalty! The accommodations, the food, the daily safaris were unbelievable! Our hosts, Berner and Rika, and the staff were super. And all for just the two of us! Incredible!
Shaun also planned our side trip to Victoria Falls. A sight not to be missed.
Moriti Safaris is the only way to go. We are already planning another trip with Shaun.

Best trip ever!!!!!!
5/5

I'm having a hard time writing this review as superlatives are not enough. Our guide, William, and our hosts, Werner and Rica at Klasserie Game Preserve, were gracious and knowledgeable. Although South Africa is experiencing a drought, the animal viewing was excellent. Seeing nature at work in this difficult time is amazing. The accommodations and meals were excellent. Overall, I could not have asked for a better experience. Moriti Private Safaris is the best.

Intimate, exceptional and unique - Customized for your enjoyment
5/5

Everything about our time with Moriti Private Safaris was exceptional and more than we had expected. Shaun and his team, including Chef Lindsay, are consummate professionals who deliver. Everything they offer, whether it be Shaun's deep knowledge, respect, and love for of all manner of wildlife in the bush or Lindsay's equally impressive culinary knowledge and skill, is imbued with an abiding passion for their craft and a desire to share that with their guests. Their rustic approach is one of integrity, authenticity and genuine respect for the animals and the environment while still caring for their guests' experience.

In addition, they were incredibly accommodating of our "special" needs as we were on a "yoga safari" which incorporated daily yoga and meditation into the trip. Shaun helped us to identify the best time and place to engage in our practice and made it possible for us to practice in an incredibly unique setting. I could not be happier and eagerly await my next opportunity to return.

Safari/Yoga Adventure
5/5

Ours was a special safari as it included a yoga program. From the moment Shaun picked us up we all felt we would be well taken care of. Shaun is incredibly knowledgeable about everything. Every game drive was an adventure and we did not lack in sightings of lions, giraffes, zebras, impala, kudu, rhinos, hippos, ... and so many more! Only the leopards eluded us but we'll get to see them next time!
Shaun answered an endless number of questions and was always patient with us when we were asking the same things over and over. On our drives, he showed us how to track different animals based on their prints and after a couple of days, we knew where to look and how to tell them apart. Shaun was with us constantly and at dinner he was especially entertaining. His life is filled with adventures and he tells stories that keep you on the edge of your seat or evoke side-splitting laughter.
I have only ever been on one safari, but I have many friends who have been on several. My experience on this trip with Shaun far exceeds anything I've heard from them and they are all jealous! If you are planning such a trip, go to Shaun at Moriti first!

My Africa
5/5

So you want to go to South Africa? And you want to go on safari? But that’s as far as your thinking has taken you – because frankly it is just a bit overwhelming with the hundreds of different safaris and packages on offer. Am I right? Well, look no further - I’ve done all the hard work for you. The comparing, the over thinking and the private (will it work!?) panic attacks. I have found the only way to visit Kruger National Park is with Moriti Private Safari’s.
Shaun Taylor is owner/operator of Moriti Private Safari’s and it’s his overwhelming passion for Kruger Park that sets him apart from the other operators. Shaun has been working as a guide for over 13 years and this is evident in his extensive knowledge of the African bush, animals and all life that inhabit this beautiful area. When you are on tour with Shaun, you feel his incredible passion and connection to the park and it is this holistic approach that enables you to see the park for not just the animals – but for the important connections that lie within it. You will learn to be still, to watch the birds, to listen to the calls of the bush and then you will notice bush tracks worn by the animals like their own private highways. And while you are busy being still – the animals will appear.
We were on safari with Shaun for 9 days and spent nights at the Lower Sabie Camp in Kruger Park, Tshukudu Private Game Reserve and Klasserie Private Nature Reserve. All of our accommodation was perfect – from the rustic Lower Sabie to the luxurious Klasserie and all of them offered their own special secrets. We went to sleep listening to Lions calling at Lower Sabie; patted Cheetahs and a Bush Baby at Tshukudu and toasted the African sunset at Klasserie in our own private reserve. Everywhere we stayed we were treated like the most important people – which we were – because we were Moriti guests.
Friends have told me that Africa will sneak into your soul and stay there. And it has. I went to Africa with an open mind – no expectations - except to enjoy every single minute – and Shaun made certain I did.
In one word – it was –perfect.
Shaun Taylor not only runs the most amazing safari; he is one of the ‘good guys’. You need to look no further.
So what are you waiting for??
