Great experience
4/5

I appreciated my trip with world tours and safaris . Great food, Nice staff. The only downside was the guide. He was more a driver than a guide. Overall, I liked my experience and it was possible I would have given them 4 stars and a half. The owner, mr.papa was really nice and even paid for my dinner afternthe safari. Their prices are very good.

A good budget safari
4/5

I was glad to get hooked up with World Tours and Safaris since I was a single woman traveling alone. Richard was helpful in getting ancillary services arranged, and putting me with a nice group of fellow travelers. We had a wonderful driver and cook, both Aron and Musa did a great job of taking care of us. The safari portion of the trip was so much more than I had expected, I would have to give that section of the trip 5 stars. The physical accoutrements were rudimentary, but that was expected since this was a budget safari. Our only questionable experience was with figuring the tips. All of us wanted to tip our driver and cook well, but felt their expectations were much more than what we were was told was customary. That is not to say they didn't deserve a good, even, generous tip, but most of us had not budgeted an extra $100 for each person in our group, for each of them. Personally, I would rather pay more upfront, and not have the uncomfortable situation arise at the end of the trip, though I realize this is not the typical method of operation in Africa. All in all it was a great trip; we saw lots of animals, had a good time, and didn't get eaten by lions. LOL. Many thanks to Richard, Aron and Musa for making it happen. P.s. Tell Musa carrot sandwiches are not a favorite. HA.

Greetings from World Tours And Safaris Tanzania.
This is a very emotive issue and has been the subject of much discussion on here. My view is, has been and always will be that the tip to the Driver is Per Group/Car and as such driver.
The normal tipping is USD$10pp per day to the driver/guide and USD$10pp per day to the cook. This is what the guides and cook general expect based on a full car of 4 - 5 people. If you really like your Driver Guide and he goes out of his way to be nice and show you a great trip. I would suggest $15 per day for the group, by the way we have no right to force any customer paying tips to my staff when doing Safari or Mountain climbing. If you feel inclined and have the cash you can give them as much as you can. It is your wish and your money. Remember you have already paid for the trip.

Great adventure
4/5

The expierence with World Tours & Safaris Tanzania was great. Richard, the manager, is a great guy, he will take care of anyone doing the safari with him and not only during the safarin but also before and after. He always offers as help and advice in everything we asked him.
We made a 5 day Safari starting in Arusha and ending in Mwanza, including lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti National Park. I dont have words to describe how amizing it was. We saw all possible animals (the big five and much more!) even a lion chansing, hunting and eating with her familiy a gnu :)
The food and camping places chosen by the company where perfect. In lake Manyara we could even sleep in the fancy Hotel with pool. We also had the Chance to see and interact with the Massai in one of their villages in Ngorongoro even though it was not on the program.
So, summarising, GREAT recommended experience with World Tours & Safaris Tanzania.

Fantastic Safari experience!
4/5

We are a family from Sweden with two daugthers (17 and 14 yrs) and went to Arusha for 3 days safari with World Tours& Safaris Tanzania. We visited Tarangire, NgoroNgoro and Maniara and had wonderful days with lot of animals. We stayed at Twiga lodge which was ok but lacking charm, though had A swimmingpool. Our guide Humphrie was nice, skilful and had broad knowlodge about the animals, the people and the culture in Tanzania. Rickard was very helpful and gave us perfect service. We can really recommend this company.

Spectacular safari from Richard, Driver / Guide Frank and Chef Zahoro for the 3rd time!
5/5

We have a wildlife travel company specialising in escorting clients to see rare endangered animals.
Whenever we do a trip in Tanzania, we work with Richard, Frank and Zahoro.
This June was our 3rd trip using "World Tours & Safaris Tanzania".

Richard is a most gracious host in Tanzania.
As always he takes great care of us and our clients.
By efficiently meeting our requests so we can have a personalised trip.
And achieve our mission of seeing cheetah, leopard and rhino.

We always ask for our favourite driver Frank and our favourite chef Zahoro.
As they are absolutely essential to our success.

Frank is a friendly guide and skilled driver.
Who works very hard to achieve our goals.
He drives safely but fast enough to ensure we get to places on time.
He has great time management and always gives us maximum time for viewing game in each park.

On every safari we've had with Frank, we have had spectacular wildlife viewing.
This year we spotted all of the Big 5 and every other animal we wished to see.
The special ones being a serval, leopard, cheetah, bat ear foxes and rock python in the Serengeti and 7 black rhinos in the crater.

In the past we went North and West, this year we went South.
But Frank always manages to get us the classic shot of the wildebeest migration.
This time we even saw a kill.
A lioness taking down a wildebeest right in front of us.

Zahoro is a happy friendly patient chef.
He is great for he caters to our requests of beef, potato fries, salads, fruit and the best avocados you will ever taste.
So that we were all healthy and well through out the trip.
Especially in Africa, it is important to have a chef you can trust to cook safe clean and hygienic meals.

Frank and Zahoro work very well as a team.

Thanks to Richard, Frank and Zahoro,
once again we leave Tanzania with more magical memories of the Serengeti
and the Ngorongoro Crater to last us a lifetime.

For anyone interested in Tanzania safari, we highly recommend you contact Richard and ask for Frank and Zahoro - The A-team.

Asante sana! :)

The review below is the personal opinion of Mari and not that of SafariBookings.
Great wildlife, friendly driver and chef, bad equipment
3/5

We choose the 4-day Safari to Manyara Lake, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti and the communication, before the Safari started, was good although it was not possible for us to do the online deposit, but it was possible to pay when we arrived Arusha. Our guide/driver Horas and the chef Vitalis cared really good about everything and did a good job. Sometimes we expected more information of the guide spontaneously which was rare, but he could answer all our questions. So we saw a lot of animals an he gave us enough time to observe them- what was great! And the dinners Vitalis cooked for us were really good!

But we also had a few problems: at the gate of the Serengeti we were not allowed to enter the park because Richard hadn't done the cash transfer or something went wrong (we still don't know). So we waited for three hours and one member of our group had to do the payment with his credit card. After the safari he got the money back from Richard but it was annoying that we had to wait for three hours without knowing what's going on. The second thing were the tents. They are okay but because of the age the zipper is bad/ broken and it's not possible to close them properly. One evening was an short rainstorm and all the water came in on every seam. Furthermore the sleeping bags smelled like hell (sweat of a lot of people) and I would recommend to everybody to take their own sleeping bag! Third and last thing: the car broke down on the third day. The driveshaft of the back wheel broke. It was nobodys fault and they were able to find a solution after 40 minutes - so we drove to the next camp with front wheel drive. The guide drove to the next garage and they fixed it during the night.

So all in all it was a good safari with some adventures.

World Tours And Safaris Tanzania
5/5

My husband and I went on a tour with World Tours And Safaris Tanzania in August 2009. We started in Tarangire, headed to Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Lake Manyara and ended in Arusha. We had a BLAST.

Richard, the tour operator, is wonderful, and by going with his company, we felt like we were supporting the local economy more than operators in the US who then contract with local companies. In fact, going "local" probably knocked a couple thousand dollars off the price of our trip. It was much more affordable and we didn't have an unlimited budget.

We did the step 2 type accommodations -- so we stayed in the wildlife lodges and not the Serenas. They were perfect for us -- not luxury but more than sufficient, and the views were beautiful.

I would go with Richard's tour company again -- in fact, we may be revisiting and we will book with him again. The only negative of the whole trip was that occasionally our jeep had some issues restarting, but our driver was able to get it going. It just meant a couple of pauses in some areas but still -- it didn't detract from the trip.

Oh and as far as wildlife viewing, we saw what the folks who book through more luxury type operators saw. Plenty of Abercrombie tour buses passing us by. We also saw a kill, and got so "tired" of seeing lions and cheetahs that we got to a point where we weren't stopping for them anymore. You know you are having a great trip when you've gotten to a point where you're only interested in the really rare stuff.

Anyways long story short our trip was wonderful and we'll certainly never forget it. I wholeheartedly endorse Richard's company, and if you are looking to "go local," you won't go wrong here. Good luck and happy safari planning!

A friendly, safe and beautiful journey into the Serengeti.
5/5

The cars arrived on time in the two cars as agreed to pick the 10 of us up at the hotel in central Arusha, and from there on we really just sat back and enjoyed the whole 4 days with the friendly and knowledgable drivers. We had already booked camping inside Serengeti with another company, but our drivers worked seamlessly with the other camp and stayed there together with us free of charge on our part.
The guides were highly experienced and we saw almost all animals there are to see in the first two days. The guys knew their way around the plains very well, and always knew when we needed lunch - the food they provided on the way from Arusha was excellent by the way.
Highly recommended!

Superb experience! Book this with Masha (tour guide) and Gadi (chef)!!!
5/5

Our camping adventure began with an unfortunate start as our toiletries were lost in transit from car to car (with the operator) but the fact that our overall experience was superb is testament to how brilliant our guides were.

Masha was one of the most humble and genuinely nice people I have met. His knowledge of the safari parks is first rate and he drove with consistent enthusiasm and passion that was truly infectious. Gadi was equally brilliant and helpful in providing the services at the campsites and preparing food for the days.

Our experience was spectacular and I will actively find these two guides to do the same again and try and find that elusive cheetah in the Serengeti next time around!

A***** (also...great value for money!!!)
