Pathetic Tour Company
1/5

I would strongly advise against booking with Wivi Agency. We found them through SafariBookings and at first everything looked legitimate—the quote and itinerary fit our budget, so we decided to go ahead and paid in full well before our trip. Then, just 1.5 days before our flight, Elias suddenly messaged asking for an extra 1200 USD, saying they had “miscalculated” the quote. We had to cut down our game drives to adjust, and three hours before our flight, Victor contacted us again asking for another 300 USD, claiming they were a small company and not making any profit. When we pushed back, he actually called us “bad people,” which was shocking and extremely unprofessional.
When we landed, things got even worse. At our accommodations, we found out Wivi had only paid the advance, even though we had transferred the full amount to them 10 days earlier. Wivi asked us if we could pay the remaining balance. Luckily, our guide stepped in and paid the outstanding amounts from his own pocket because Wivi wasn’t paying on time, and even though they promised to reimburse him the next day, he still hadn’t received the money until the very end of the trip. Throughout the safari, they kept coming back to us with “miscalculations” and extra charges, including trying to make us pay again for entrance fees we had already covered.
The final day was the most stressful. After our itinerary was completed, our driver asked Wivi for his payment, and they started giving him excuses instead of paying. He refused to drive us to the airport until he got his money, and we were stuck waiting while our flight time was getting closer and closer. We ended up reaching the airport only about an hour before departure, which was completely avoidable if Wivi had handled their responsibilities properly. Even then, Victor was still trying to charge us for things we had already paid, and he remained rude, dismissive, and unwilling to listen to anything we said.
Overall, the trip felt chaotic, financially draining, and emotionally exhausting because of Wivi’s poor planning, last‑minute demands, and lack of professionalism. They even offered a “full refund” 1.5 days before the trip, knowing we had no time to find another operator and no guarantee of when the money would arrive. Trust me—if you want a smooth, enjoyable safari and peace of mind, do not choose Wivi Agency.

Dear H B,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry that some aspects of the trip caused you stress and frustration. We would, however, like to clarify several points so that future readers can understand the circumstances from our side as well.

Regarding the additional costs mentioned in your review, these were communicated to you before the safari. We explained the revised costs and gave you the option to either proceed with the safari based on the revised arrangements or cancel the trip and discuss the refund process. We did not force you to proceed with the safari without informing you of the costs.

We also acknowledge that you had made your payment approximately 10 days before the safari. However, the funds were not being held in our company bank account during the period when we were waiting for your final confirmation. The payment remained within the Pesapal merchant account because we were awaiting your decision regarding whether you wanted to proceed with the safari or cancel and request a refund.

Once you confirmed that you wanted to proceed, we initiated the withdrawal/settlement process so that the funds could be transferred to our company account and used for the operational and supplier payments. The merchant settlement process takes approximately 48–72 working hours. In this particular case, the weekend and public holidays affected the timing. You confirmed on Saturday, and the following day was Sunday. We also had another public Islamic holiday in Tanzania, Maulid, which fell on Tuesday. These non-working days delayed the settlement process, and the funds therefore became available to us only later during the safari.

This is an important distinction: the fact that you had paid 10 days before the safari does not mean that Wivi Agency had access to those funds in its company account throughout that period. The money remained within the payment merchant while we awaited your confirmation.

During this period, we continued working to ensure that your safari proceeded and that the required accommodation, park arrangements, transportation and other services were maintained. If our guide paid for any service on behalf of both you and our company, we reimbursed him in full. We also ensured that these payments were settled before you left, so that you could see that we were acting transparently and were not attempting to cheat or avoid our obligations.

We also acknowledge that discussing additional costs close to the departure date was understandably frustrating. We accept that this could have been communicated more smoothly, and we will use this experience to improve our costing and communication procedures.

Regarding the communication between you and our team, we sincerely apologise if any words or responses made you feel disrespected. Regardless of the circumstances, our guests deserve professional and respectful communication.

We respect that you were disappointed with aspects of your experience. At the same time, we believe it is important that the circumstances surrounding the payment, the additional costs and the merchant settlement process are accurately represented.

We remain committed to improving our procedures and providing our guests with clear pricing, transparent communication and reliable safari operations.

Kind regards,

Victor

Once we arrived - the best holiday experience we’ve had
4/5

The quality of this safari truly came together not even the moment we landed in Tanzania but as we were landing.

We saw elephants waving their trunks and zebras run across the runway behind us, what an entry to a safari.

Our Safari guide Onest was exceptional & made the trip go from good to unforgettable. Our 2nd guide Joshua was also fantastic in leading us up through the Udzungwa mountains to see the 2nd tallest waterfall in Tanzania.

To see all the animals we did (lions, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, warthogs, elephants, giraffes & loads of different species of birds, the list goes on) it was exceptional especially from day 1 on the safari.

We camped the first night at a public campsite although a bit nervous, followed by 2 nights in lodges. I’d recommend only trying camping if you’re feeling brave as it’s quite a nervous experience to be in the wild unless you’re a good sleeper!

The food served was great by our personal Chef Chomie, we had some delicious breakfasts & dinners.

The overall service was fantastic.

The only concern was the communication before the actual safari, we found that it was a bit ambiguous around payment structures and changes to actual payment amounts / times for pick ups even on the day of flying.

I would ensure well in advance you confirm with other members of the Safari (flights, taxis, accommodation & proof of payment) where possible to ensure you have a more stress free experience before your trip of a lifetime.

On the trip, no issues whatsoever.

Thank you to Elias & the team for going to great lengths to making sure this all worked out in the end.

Asante Sana

The safari we booked for 4 people in February 2027 was supposed to cost USD 4,000 per person. Despite having made full payments or substantial advance payments, we have still not been provided with any proof that the agreed hotels and domestic flights have been paid for. Our contact person, Elias Lucas, requested further payments and has stopped responding despite numerous attempts to contact him. He is also refusing to refund our money.

Furthermore, during my father’s safari with the same agency in September 2026, it became apparent that agreed luxury hotels had been replaced with budget accommodations without his consent. Some of these accommodations had not even been paid for, and agreed domestic flights were not carried out. As a result, my father had to pay out of his own pocket for services that had already been paid for.

Based on these circumstances, we believe this agency is operating fraudulently. We have already reported the matter to the Tourism Police, the Ministry of Tourism, and SafariBookings . My father has also filed a police report. According to SafariBookings, there are already outstanding financial claims from other customers against Wivi Agency.

This review will remain online until we receive a full refund of our advance payment of USD 10,800.
