
All international flights arrive at Bole International Airport (ADD) in Addis Ababa. As Ethiopia is a large country and places of interest are spread out, most people get around using the excellent network of domestic flights run by Ethiopian Airlines. There are daily flights connecting Addis Ababa to Bahir Dar, Gondar, Lalibela and Axum – the historical towns in Northern Ethiopia.
Most people reach Simien Mountains National Park through Gondar. Flights arrive at Gondar Airport (GDQ), located 15km/9mi south of the city. Gondar is located 100km/62mi south of Debark, the gateway to the park. The drive takes roughly 2 hours*.
Simien Mountains NP can also be reached by car from Addis Ababa. The distance is about 780km/485mi, and you can break up the journey in Bahir Dar.
