We had the priviledge of spotting lions 15 minutes after we had started our Tarangire safari trip. We also saw lots and lots of elephants. Also, the vegetation (with baobabs) is very beautiful and adds a lot to the scenery.

Tarangire National Park is very well landscaped and beautiful. It's not as wild as the plains of the Serengeti or as jungle-like as the Ngorongoro Crater. The Tarangire almost feels like an amusement park zoo but don't let that stop you from visiting! There are plenty of animals to be seen and it feels like it's a nice way to break you in before going on a real safari!

It was fascinating and thrilling to see so many herds of black and grey elephants, some with the very long straight tusks of the females and others with broken or damaged tusks of the older fighting males. The Park was green and provided a range of trees and hills in which the elephants roamed. There were huge pools of water where large numbers of elephants would cool down and splash one another with their trunks.

Impressive and pleasant. Watching the elephant herds (matriarchal families) or the lonely bull elephants roaming and grazing in the bush was a memorable experience and somewhat relaxing.
