It was far and away our most enjoyable park, partly because it was our first one to visit, and partly because we saw more species of animals there than anywhere else and we really enjoyed the tented camp experience.

Tarangire is a beautiful park known for its iconic baobab trees and large elephant herds. The scenery is unique compared to other parks, and the wildlife viewing is excellent, especially during the dry season when animals gather around the river. It’s less crowded than Serengeti or Ngorongoro, which makes for a more peaceful safari experience. A great choice if you enjoy nature and want something a bit off the beaten path.

We saw plenty of animals but I loved the huge elephant herds here. There were so many and they were all around us. It was an amazing up close encounter

Beautiful scenery. Abundance of elephants and our first encounter with lions and cheetah so very special.
Would highly recommend, especially if you have limited time in the area.

Least favorite park. Lots of animals but glad we went here first, each of the next parks only improved our experience
