Rising to 4,566 meters (14,980 ft.), Mount Meru is Tanzania’s second highest peak and a dormant stratovolcano set within Arusha National Park. Located about 70 kilometers (43 miles) west of Mount Kilimanjaro, it offers a scenic and challenging trekking experience surrounded by wildlife and dramatic landscapes. The standard Mount Meru trek takes four days, with a shorter three day option available for reaching the summit.
