The Marangu Route, also known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” is one of the most accessible routes to Mount Kilimanjaro’s summit. It is the only route offering mountain huts with beds and solar lighting at every campsite. The climb is usually completed in 5 days, but 6 days is recommended for better acclimatization. The extra day can be spent resting at Horombo Camp or exploring the Mawenzi Peak area. Basic men’s and women’s latrines are available at the campsites.
