Travelers

Marangu is quite different from the other routes. Overnight stays are in dormitory-style huts with solar power. The huts have a communal dining room, simple washrooms, and toilets. At the lower elevations, the huts have flushing toilets, while higher up the mountain, you will use “long-drop” toilets. Another unique feature of the Marangu Route is that the path used for descent is the same path used for the ascent.
