The Machame route is the most liked and effective way to reach the top of Kilimanjaro. People sleep in tents that porters carry up the mountain. This route is beautiful and takes around 6 days, but we suggest doing it in 7 days for better acclimatization. The reason it works well is because it lets hikers climb high and then sleep at lower altitudes, which helps them adjust better to the elevation.
