Mkomazi sits three hours from Moshi and sees a fraction of the visitors that pass through Tanzania's better-known parks. The landscape is drier and more open – oryx, kudu, elephant, zebra and giraffe. The park is home to a rhino sanctuary, one of the conservation projects Altezza actively supports. One of the resident rhinos carries an Altezza name. A natural add-on after a Kilimanjaro climb, or a self-contained safari for those avoiding the busier northern circuit.
