Mount Meru doesn’t get as much attention as Kilimanjaro, but it really should. It’s about 4,000 feet shorter, but the hike is still tough and rewarding. It takes 3 to 4 days on the Momela Route, and while no special gear is needed, the altitude can be a challenge. You'll walk through wild landscapes, spot animals, and catch an unforgettable sunrise at the top—with Kilimanjaro in the distance. Quiet, tough, and absolutely worth it.
