Depart Kigali mid-morning and drive towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, crossing scenic hills and rural villages along the way. Stop for photos and short breaks while enjoying the lush landscapes of Rwanda and southern Uganda.
Arrive in Bwindi in the late afternoon, check into your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner while preparing for the gorilla trekking adventure the next day.

Day 2

Gorilla Trekking Experience & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your gorilla trek. Accompanied by rangers, hike through Bwindi’s dense forest, following signs of a gorilla family. The trek may last 2–6 hours, but the reward is unmatched—an awe-inspiring hour observing the gorillas as they feed, groom, and interact.
After the trek, continue with a scenic transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s most beautiful lakes, framed by terraced hills and dotted with islands. Upon arrival, enjoy a relaxing canoe ride across the calm waters, where you’ll take in stunning views and spot abundant birdlife. With more than 200 species recorded, highlights include the African harrier-hawk, pied kingfisher, grey crowned crane, and white-tailed blue flycatcher.
End the day with dinner and overnight by the lakeside.

After breakfast, begin your scenic journey back to Kigali, traveling through Uganda’s rolling hills and Rwanda’s terraced landscapes. The route offers sweeping views of valleys, plantations, and vibrant villages, with chances for photo stops or craft shopping along the way.
On arrival in Kigali, you may explore local markets or relax before your airport transfer. This marks the end of your adventure, filled with memories of gorilla trekking, Lake Bunyonyi, and Rwanda’s heritage.
