Optional Balloon Safari: Begin before sunrise with a 05:00 a.m. transfer by Jeep from your lodge to the launch site. After a safety briefing, watch the balloon inflate and lift off as the sun rises over the Serengeti. Drift silently above the plains, sometimes at treetop level for close wildlife encounters, sometimes soaring up to 1,000 feet for sweeping views of the endless landscape. The flight lasts about one hour, depending on conditions, and ends with a traditional champagne toast and a full English breakfast served in the bush, evoking the spirit of “Out of Africa.” Receive your Serengeti Balloon Safari certificate before continuing on a full-day game drive through the rich Seronera area, famous for lions, elephants, cheetahs, zebras and, depending on the season, the dramatic wildebeest migration. Lake Manyara National Park – Zanzibar Archipelago

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, an unspoiled paradise renowned for its abundance of bird species and the unique tree-climbing lions. The dramatic western escarpment of the Rift Valley forms the park’s western boundary, while to the east lies the shallow, alkaline Lake Manyara, which expands and recedes with the seasons and attracts thousands of flamingos during the rains. The name “Manyara” originates from the Maasai word emanyara, referring to a plant traditionally used to build protective family enclosures (bomas). The park’s diverse vegetation ranges from savannah to evergreen forest. On your exploration, you may encounter giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and, if fortunate, lions resting in the trees.
