Maun to Mababe Floodplains

Meet your guide in Maun and begin your journey north in a custom 4x4 safari vehicle. Arrive in Mababe, where you’ll find your campsite ready with tents erected, and receive a safari briefing. Your first afternoon game drive introduces you to the elephant herds and predators that make Mababe famous. Expect lions, wild dogs, and large buffalo herds roaming the floodplains.

Depart Mababe and venture into Savuti, an arid yet wildlife-rich area within Chobe National Park. Savuti is legendary for its shifting landscapes and predator drama.

Morning and afternoon game drives: Search for lions, hyenas, leopards, cheetahs, and the area’s iconic bull elephants.

Visit Savuti Marsh and the ancient Gubatsa Hills, home to San rock paintings and leopards.

Spend evenings around the campfire under Savuti’s dazzling stars.

Each day brings unpredictable wildlife encounters. This is where documentaries about lion-elephant battles are filmed.

Head north to the lush Chobe Riverfront, a dramatic contrast to Savuti’s dry plains. The Chobe River attracts the largest elephant population in Africa.

Game drives along the riverbanks: See elephants crossing the water, pods of hippos, crocodiles basking in the sun, and African Fish Eagles calling overhead.

Excellent opportunities for birdwatching, with species like carmine bee-eaters and African skimmers.

Late afternoon drives provide magical sunsets over the water.
