Begin early with breakfast before heading to your assigned sector in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking. After registration and a ranger briefing on safety and gorilla etiquette, you set off on a guided hike through dense, misty rainforest, following experienced trackers who locate your gorilla family. The trek can last from 30 minutes to several hours over steep, muddy, and uneven terrain, with the forest alive with birds, monkeys, and other wildlife. Upon finding the gorillas, spend a magical hour observing their behaviour, mothers nurturing infants, and juveniles playfully interacting. After this once-in-a-lifetime encounter, trek back to the starting point and receive a gorilla trekking certificate. Afterwards, embark on a scenic transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, nestled among terraced hills and dotted with islands. Arrive by late afternoon, check in at your lodge, and enjoy a tranquil evening by the lake with dinner, reflecting on the unforgettable gorilla experience.

After breakfast, head to Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park for chimpanzee trekking. Known as the “Valley of the Apes,” the gorge is a lush rainforest cutting through the savanna, home to a small habituated community of chimpanzees. Guided by expert rangers, you’ll trek through dense forest, listening for calls and spotting playful chimps, while also observing red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus, and diverse birdlife.

After this immersive primate encounter, return to your vehicle and begin the scenic transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, passing rolling hills, farmland, and small villages.
