4-Day Mikumi & Ruaha Safari from Zanzibar

Zanzibar- Mikumi National Park

You will begin your safari with a morning flight from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred by road to Mikumi National Park, which takes approximately 4–5 hours. Mikumi is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, home to elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and hippos. After arriving at the park, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive, taking in the beautiful savannah scenery and observing animals in their natural habitats. In the evening, you will check in to Camp Bastian Mikumi, a comfortable mid-range lodge offering spacious rooms with en-suite bathrooms and private balconies overlooking the savannah. You will enjoy dinner at the lodge and relax for the night.

Mikumi- Ruaha National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, you will head out for a morning game drive in Mikumi National Park. This early excursion gives you the best chance to spot active wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, and zebras. You return to the lodge around midday for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, you will depart Mikumi and drive approximately 3-4 hours to Ruaha National Park. Upon arrival, you will check in to Ruaha Hilltop Lodge, a mid-range lodge perched on a hilltop with panoramic views of the park. You'll enjoy dinner at the lodge and overnight, resting after the day’s travel and wildlife encounters.

Full Game Drive in Ruaha National Park

You'll spend the day exploring Ruaha National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. The park is vast and offers excellent opportunities to see lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and a variety of antelopes and birds. For a unique experience, consider a guided walking safari with a park ranger to explore the flora and smaller wildlife up close. You will return to Ruaha Hilltop Lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Ruaha Game Drive then Zanzibar

You'll start your day with breakfast at the lodge, followed by a morning game drive in Ruaha National Park. You will enjoy the early wildlife activity and take in the serene landscapes one last time. You will return to the lodge around midday for lunch. After lunch, you will begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam, which takes approximately 5–6 hours. From Dar es Salaam, board your flight back to Zanzibar, arriving in the afternoon or evening.
