Day 2

After breakfast, your Millennia Safaris guide will pick you up and drive you to Lake Manyara National Park, a small yet stunning park located 120 km from Arusha. Named after its seasonal soda lake, the park attracts thousands of flamingos and over 500 bird species. On your game drive, you’ll spot wildlife such as elephants, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, monkeys, and possibly the famous tree-climbing lions. The park’s diverse landscape includes open plains, lush forests, and baobab-studded cliffs. After the game drive, you’ll head to a comfortable mid-range lodge to relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next day’s adventure.

After breakfast, your journey continues toward the lush highlands, where the Iraqw people cultivate wheat, coffee, and corn. As you pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you’ll enjoy a stunning view of the majestic Ngorongoro Crater before heading on to the Serengeti, arriving around midday.

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s largest national park, boasts a variety of landscapes including vast grasslands, savannah, swamps, lakes, and rolling hills. It is world-famous for hosting the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeests and zebras move across the plains in search of fresh grazing, depending on the season.

After an exciting day of game viewing, you’ll make your way to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the incredible Serengeti National Park on game drives. This iconic park is home to an abundance of wildlife, including impalas, buffaloes, crocodiles, and hippos. However, it is most famous for hosting the Great Migration, where massive herds of wildebeest and zebras travel in search of fresh grazing, following the seasonal rains.

From November to December, the herds move from the woodlands and hills of the north to the open southern plains. During the long rains from April to June, they make their way back north. Along the way, predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards lie in wait, offering thrilling wildlife sightings throughout the day.

Day 6

Serengeti NP to Ngorongoro

After an early breakfast, you’ll set off on another thrilling game drive in the Serengeti, with a chance to spot members of the legendary Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and possibly the elusive rhino. Wildlife roams freely across this vast, unfenced wilderness, creating an authentic safari experience.

Later, you’ll begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Crater. Upon reaching the rim, you’ll enjoy your first breathtaking view of this natural wonder, an immense caldera filled with grasslands, sparkling streams, and an incredible density of wildlife. Ngorongoro crater to Karatu

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll descend the steep road into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site formed millions of years ago. Measuring 610 meters deep and covering about 260 square kilometers, it is home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, around 25,000 animals. In just moments, you can encounter wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and a wide variety of the 500+ bird species found here. With a bit of luck, you may even spot the rare and endangered black rhino grazing in the open plains.

After a picnic lunch inside the crater, you’ll ascend back to the rim and continue to Karatu, where you’ll stay at one of our handpicked mid-range partner lodges. There, you can enjoy a delicious dinner, unwind with a refreshing swim, and relax in a spacious room as you reflect on the day’s incredible wildlife encounters.

Karatu to Tarangire

After breakfast, you’ll set out for the final stop of this remarkable safari: Tarangire National Park, famous for its impressive elephant herds. From the open top of your vehicle, explore the park’s seasonal swamps, savannahs, and the Tarangire River, spotting wildlife such as zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and giraffes. With some luck, you might witness a lion stalking its prey or a leopard resting high in the trees.
