Pickup from Kilimanjaro Airport / Moshi or Arusha in the morning. Drive to Materuni Village for a hike through coffee plantations and village trails to Materuni Waterfalls an attractive 70m waterfall set in lush highland forest (short, moderate hike; about 30–60 minutes on foot depending on pace). Enjoy a local coffee experience with the hosts, then transfer to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast depart for Lake Manyara National Park (located at the foot of the Rift Valley escarpment). Enjoy an afternoon game drive among acacia woodland and along the lake shore Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions and dense baboon troops, plus excellent birdlife. Overnight at a budget lodge or campsite near the park.

Optional early morning game drive in Lake Manyara for better light and activity. Afterwards head west toward the Serengeti, with scenic stops en route; depending on road conditions you may transit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before entering the Serengeti. Arrive mid-to-late afternoon continue with game drive to begin exploring the plains. Overnight at a budget camp or basic lodge in/near the Serengeti.
