A morning game drive in the underrated gem of Arusha National Park, with views of Mount Meru and chances to see giraffes, buffalo, and colobus monkeys. In the afternoon, you drive towards the land of giants.

This is where your safari truly begins. Lake Burunge Tented Lodge offers the romantic feel of camping with the comforts of a lodge. Your room is a large, permanent tent on a raised platform, featuring real beds, en-suite bathrooms (often with hot running water and flush toilets), and a private veranda. A final morning game drive in Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. After lunch, you begin the scenic journey into the world-renowned Serengeti National Park.

This is the quintessential Serengeti experience. Into Wild Africa Tented Camp offers a more authentic "under canvas" feel. The tents are spacious and well-furnished but are more classic safari-style. They include comfortable beds, en-suite bathroom facilities (which may include eco-friendly toilets and bucket showers that are filled on request—a classic and delightful part of the experience). The camp is not fenced, meaning wildlife can and does wander through, adding to the sense of adventure. The staff are always on hand for your safety. A full day exploring the vast Serengeti plains. You'll search for the Big Five and witness the great migration (location dependent on season). This is a day dedicated to the raw beauty of Africa.
Returning to the same camp for a second night allows you to deepen your connection to the Serengeti. You'll feel at home as you share stories of the day's sightings around the campfire, listening to the nocturnal sounds of hyenas whooping or lions roaring in the distance.

To the Ngorongoro Highlands
To the Ngorongoro Highlands
A final morning game drive in the Serengeti before driving towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey itself is scenic, often passing by the Olduvai Gorge, a significant archaeological site.

Returning to the lodge after the crater tour is a highlight. You can enjoy a sundowner on your balcony, reflecting on the incredible wildlife spectacle you witnessed below. The comfort and warmth of the lodge are particularly welcome after an early start and a long day of exploration.
