Your Kilimanjaro adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Arusha or near Kilimanjaro International Airport. You’ll be transferred to Lemosho Gate, where you complete registration, meet your experienced guides and porters, and receive a short briefing and gear check before starting the trek.
The hike begins through dense rainforest, surrounded by towering trees, tropical plants, and a variety of birdlife. The trail is moderately challenging, with some uphill sections, but the shaded forest path and scenic surroundings make for a comfortable start to your climb. Along the way, there are short breaks for photos and rest, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the forest and acclimatize gradually.
In the afternoon, you will reach Mti Mkubwa (“Big Tree”) Camp, a tranquil campsite where your tents are set up and a warm meal is prepared. This first overnight stop allows your body to begin acclimatizing to higher altitudes.

After breakfast at Mti Mkubwa Camp, you leave the rainforest and begin hiking through heath and moorland, gradually ascending into alpine terrain. The trail passes bamboo groves, wildflowers, and open slopes, offering scenic vistas of the Shira Plateau.
Midway, stop for snacks and photos before continuing through volcanic rock formations and high-altitude flora. You’ll reach Shira Two Camp (3,850m) in the afternoon, a quiet campsite ideal for rest and acclimatization before the next day’s trek toward Lava Tower and baranco.

After a short rest and photos at Lava Tower, you descend to Baranco Camp (3,950m), located at the base of the famous Baranco Wall. The camp is sheltered and scenic, perfect for rest and preparation for the next day’s climb.

You’ll arrive at Karanga Camp (4,100m) in the afternoon, a peaceful spot to rest and prepare for the next day’s ascent toward Barafu Base Camp.

Upon arrival at Barafu Base Camp, your tents and a warm meal await. Spend the afternoon resting, hydrating, and preparing your gear, as this camp is crucial for acclimatization before the midnight push to Uhuru Peak.

On your final day, you descend from Mweka Camp through lush rainforest toward Mweka Gate. The trail is primarily downhill and can be muddy or slippery, so trekking poles and sturdy boots are highly recommended. Upon reaching Mweka Gate, complete your descent registration and receive your Kilimanjaro summit certificate, a lasting memento of your incredible achievement.
