Day 1

After an early breakfast in Arusha, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to the northern Serengeti. Enjoy spectacular aerial views of the Great Rift Valley and the endless Serengeti plains as you fly into one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife areas. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your guide and enjoy a game drive en route to your tented camp, keeping an eye out for elephants, giraffes, lions, and, in season, the great wildebeest migration near the Mara River. After lunch and a short rest at camp, head out again for an afternoon game drive to explore the northern reaches of the park. Return to camp in time to relax around the campfire before dinner and overnight at Serengeti Mara River Camp.

Spend this full day exploring the wildlife-rich northern Serengeti. After an early breakfast, head out on a game drive across open plains and along wooded riverbanks, where you may encounter elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, and big herds of buffalo. After breakfast at Serengeti Mara River Camp, depart on a leisurely game drive as you begin your journey from the northern Serengeti towards the central plains. You’ll follow the Mara and Grumeti ecosystems south, crossing open savannahs and woodland where you may encounter elephants, giraffes, prides of lion, and, in season, scattered herds of the Great Migration. This is a beautiful drive that doubles as an extended game drive, with plenty of opportunities to stop for photos.
You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot in the park before continuing towards the Seronera and Namiri Plains area, known for its big cats and resident wildlife year-round. Arrive at Namiri Plains Camp in the late afternoon, in time to settle into your tent, relax with sundowners, and soak in the views before dinner and overnight inside the heart of the Serengeti.
