Just 30 minutes from town, Arusha National Park offers one of Tanzania’s most exciting experiences: a walking safari! With an armed ranger, you’ll explore the forest, lakes, and open plains on foot, coming close to giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, colobus monkeys, and countless birds. Each district of the park has its own charm, from the flamingo-filled Momella Lakes to the dramatic landscapes around Mount Meru and Ngurdoto Crater.

Visit Lake Manyara National Park

After the 2-hour transfer, you will step into Lake Manyara National Park. This is one of the smaller parks, but it has one of the largest varieties of landscapes, which offers great opportunities for wildlife spotting. Look out over the water to see flamingoes and hippos, or look up to spot monkeys and lions high up in the trees. You will also have the chance to see the Rift Valley.

After breakfast, we’ll cross the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and enter the world-famous Serengeti. As we cross its endless plains, keep an eye out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, and countless other species that call this land home. Today you will explore Tarangire National Park. Spot its famous herds of massive elephants and see the alien beauty of the baobab trees. Or watch the water of the Tarangire River, which the park is named after, cut through the landscape.
