Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or airport. Meet your experienced guide for a briefing on the day’s itinerary. Travel north, crossing the equator and passing scenic countryside and small towns.

Arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch at Samburu Sopa Lodge. After a short rest, depart for your first afternoon game drive, exploring the reserve’s rugged hills and acacia-studded plains. Look out for elephants, lions, leopards, and the rare Samburu Special Five: Beisa oryx, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and Somali ostrich. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay amidst the sounds of the African wilderness.

Full-Day Game Viewing in Samburu

After an early breakfast, set out for a full-day exploration of Samburu National Reserve. Traverse the varied landscapes, from riverine forests to rugged hills and open savannah. Your guide will help track wildlife, offering opportunities to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, and unique northern species such as the gerenuk and Grevy’s zebra.

Pause for a picnic lunch beside the Ewaso Nyiro River, a gathering spot for wildlife. Continue your game drive in the afternoon, visiting new areas of the park to maximize sightings. Return to Samburu Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Samburu National Reserve – Nairobi

Begin your day with an early morning game drive, as Samburu awakens with elephants, antelopes, and predators on the move. Return to Samburu Sopa Lodge for breakfast and check-out by 10:00 a.m.
