Arusha - Kilimanjaro Day Hike

Your adventure begins with an early morning drive from Arusha to the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Entering through the Marangu Gate, you will begin your guided day hike along one of the mountain’s most scenic forest trails. The lush rainforest is alive with birds, towering trees, and occasional sightings of primates. You will trek up to Mandara Hut (2,700m), stopping for rest and lunch while enjoying views of the Maundi Crater. After soaking in the fresh mountain air, descend back to the gate where your driver awaits. Return to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay.

Arusha National Park

After breakfast, head to Arusha National Park, a gem known for its rich ecosystems and stunning scenery. Enjoy a day of wildlife viewing, including possible sightings of giraffes, zebras, buffalo, colobus monkeys, and a variety of birdlife. Depending on preference, you may also take part in a ranger-guided walking safari or canoeing (optional). Capture views of Mount Meru, Momella Lakes, and the dramatic Ngurdoto Crater. In the late afternoon, return to Arusha town for your overnight stay.

Tarangire National Park

Depart Arusha after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its majestic baobab trees and large elephant herds. Spend the day on a thrilling game drive across diverse habitats ranging from open plains to riverine forests. Keep an eye out for lions, giraffes, wildebeest, and an impressive variety of bird species. The Tarangire River acts as a magnet for wildlife, offering excellent viewing opportunities, especially in the dry season. Later in the afternoon, exit the park and continue to the highlands town of Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater

Today you will descend into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s largest intact volcanic calderas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy an entire day exploring its diverse landscapes grassy plains, acacia forests, wetlands, and the shimmering soda lake. This natural enclosure is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including lions, buffalo, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and if lucky the rare black rhino. Pause at a scenic picnic site for lunch before continuing your game viewing. Later in the afternoon, drive back to Karatu for your final overnight stay.
