Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from Arusha at your accommodation or Arusha Airport followed by a beautiful drive through rural landscapes and Maasai country toward Tarangire National Park. After entering the park, your game drive unfolds across vast savannahs dotted with towering baobab trees and intersected by the Tarangire River the park’s main lifeline. Tarangire is famous for its massive elephant population, but it also offers excellent sightings of lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, wildebeests, and a rich variety of birdlife. With lunch enjoyed inside the park, you have the entire day to explore this diverse ecosystem. After breakfast, you depart Karatu and ascend to the Ngorongoro Crater rim, where breathtaking views stretch across the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. You then descend 600 meters into this wildlife-rich sanctuary for a full game drive. The crater floor hosts extraordinary concentrations of wildlife, including lions, elephants, hyenas, buffalo, zebras, and the endangered black rhino. With a mix of grasslands, marshes, and acacia forests, the crater allows outstanding game viewing in a relatively small area.
