Day 2

After a relaxed breakfast, embark on an exciting adventure to explore the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Rwanda stands as a poignant tribute to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Inaugurated on the genocide's 10th anniversary, this memorial at Gisozi honors the 250,000 lives lost and educates on the atrocities of the 20th century genocides.
The ongoing project, the Wall of Names, commemorates the deceased, with many names still awaiting documentation. The memorial gardens offer a serene space for reflection on the genocide's history.
Following this, take a day trip to the breathtaking Nyungwe Forest National Park located in Rwanda's southern province. The journey from Kigali to Nyungwe forest takes approximately 5 hours, with opportunities to make stops along the way to visit the ethnographic national museum in Huye town. Afterward, indulge in a delicious lunch before continuing your journey to the forest.

After having breakfast, head over to the park offices to receive a briefing. Next, explore the tropical rainforest to track down the elusive chimpanzees as they swing from tree branches, and snap incredible photos and videos. Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest, is a unique and unforgettable experience for primate lovers and nature enthusiasts. The park is home to over 13 species of primates, including a large population of wild chimpanzees. Trekking through the forest in search of these fascinating creatures is an exciting adventure. Guided by experienced park rangers, visitors hike through the lush rainforest and observe the chimpanzees.
Later in the day, embark on an exciting canopy walk through the Nyungwe forest, where you may encounter a variety of primates and bird species that call the forest home. The walkway stretches across 300 meters and stands at a height of 50 meters above the forest floor, providing a breathtaking view of the forest and the surrounding landscape.
