Enter the park and game drive across the endless plains toward the central Serengeti, watching for giraffes, zebras, elephants, and, with luck, big cats along the way. Around midday, stop at a picnic site in the Seronera area, with sweeping savannah views and frequent wildlife activity nearby. After breakfast in Arusha, meet your guide and drive to Arusha National Park, a scenic reserve at the foot of Mount Meru. Begin with a relaxing game drive through lush forest and open grasslands, looking for giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, colobus monkeys, and a variety of birdlife. Late morning, enjoy a guided bush walk with an armed ranger (optional for an extra cost), offering a unique chance to experience the sights, sounds, and smaller details of the bush on foot.
Afterwards, continue by road toward the green foothills of Kilimanjaro to visit Materuni Waterfalls. Walk through coffee and banana farms with a local guide, learning about traditional coffee cultivation before reaching the beautiful waterfall. Enjoy the cool spray, take photos, and, if you wish, swim in the natural pool below (water levels and conditions permitting).
