Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Depart Nairobi at 8:00 AM in a comfortable 4x4 safari Jeep and drive north through Kenya’s scenic central highlands, passing tea and coffee plantations and enjoying views of Mount Kenya. Arrive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in the afternoon and proceed to your lodge or camp for check-in, followed by lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, head out for an extended game drive across the conservancy’s open plains, known for high wildlife density and strong conservation success. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, and possibly lions or cheetahs. Later in the afternoon, visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya, where you will learn about the rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned and abused chimpanzees. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy to Nairobi

After breakfast, depart for a morning game drive across Ol Pejeta Conservancy, taking advantage of the cooler hours when wildlife activity is at its peak. This drive offers excellent chances to encounter elephants, rhinos, lions, cheetahs, and other plains game while enjoying wide open landscapes with Mount Kenya in the background. Later in the morning, enjoy an optional visit to the Northern White Rhino enclosure, a rare and exclusive experience available only at Ol Pejeta, where you will see the last remaining individuals and learn about global conservation efforts. Continue with a visit to Baraka, the blind black rhino, and gain insight into the conservancy’s hands-on wildlife management and care.
