On arrival into Lusaka International Airport, you are met by a Robin Pope Safaris representative and assisted onto your light aircraft flight to Mfuwe. The flight takes around an hour and offers your first glimpse of Zambia’s wilderness from above.
At Mfuwe, your guide meets you for a game drive transfer into the Nsefu Sector of South Luangwa National Park, an area known for its rich wildlife and low vehicle density. Tena Tena is one of only two camps in this exclusive sector, set on a sweeping bend of the Luangwa River.
After settling into your tent, lunch is served beneath a magnificent mahogany tree, followed by time to rest before your first afternoon and evening game drive.

After breakfast around the campfire, you head out to explore the Nsefu Sector in more depth. Morning and afternoon game activities reveal a mosaic of habitats, from riverbanks to open plains and ebony groves.
Depending on the season, we highly recommend an all day picnic drive, allowing you to range further afield and experience a full day immersed in the park.

This morning you fly from South Luangwa to the Lower Zambezi, landing at Jeki Airstrip. From here, you transfer to your chosen camp, either Kutali Camp or Chula Island Camp, both operated by the excellent Tusk and Mane team.
Set along the Zambezi River, these camps embrace a rustic, fly camping style that places you right at the heart of the landscape.

You have three full days to explore the Lower Zambezi, an area defined by its dramatic escarpment and the life giving presence of the river. Activities focus on walking safaris, complemented by game drives, boating and canoeing.
This blend of land and water based experiences offers a different perspective on wildlife, from elephants wading through the river to predators moving along the banks at dusk. Guiding here is a standout feature, with passionate teams who know the area intimately.

The Busanga Plains, Big Skies, Predators and the Heart of Kafue

After breakfast and farewells, you are driven through the park to the airstrip for your flight into Kafue National Park. Landing at Lufupa Airstrip, you transfer to your chosen camp, either Musekese Camp or Ntemwa Busanga Camp.
Musekese Camp offers an intimate, personalised safari experience with a strong sense of place, while Ntemwa Busanga Camp is perfectly positioned for exploring the southern Busanga Plains, a haven for wildlife photography.
The Busanga Plains are renowned for their high density of predators, including the famous swamp lions, as well as excellent sightings of cheetah and leopard. Birdlife is outstanding, particularly during the dry season when water birds congregate in large numbers.
