After an early breakfast, depart Nairobi and travel southwest through the scenic Great Rift Valley, stopping briefly for photos of the dramatic escarpment. Continue the drive across rolling countryside and traditional farmlands before arriving in the Maasai Mara in time for lunch at your midrange lodge or tented camp. After some relaxation, head out for your first afternoon game drive in this iconic reserve. The vast open plains are home to lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and a wide variety of antelope species. This day allows for deeper exploration of the Mara’s diverse ecosystems, including riverine forests and open savannahs. Guests may choose an optional early morning hot air balloon safari, floating silently over the plains at sunrise and finishing with a champagne bush breakfast (at an extra cost). Later, enjoy either a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch or relaxed morning and afternoon drives. With luck, you may witness hunting scenes or large herds grazing across the plains. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart the Maasai Mara and journey north towards Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive around the alkaline lake and surrounding woodlands. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its flamingos, pelicans, and diverse birdlife, as well as its successful rhino conservation program, offering excellent chances to see both black and white rhinos. The park also hosts lions, leopards, and Rothschild’s giraffes. Dinner and overnight at your lodge/camp overlooking the park.

After breakfast, drive to the beautiful Lake Naivasha, arriving late morning. Enjoy a peaceful boat ride(optional) on the lake, where you can observe hippos and numerous bird species such as fish eagles and cormorants. This is followed by a guided walking tour on Crescent Island (optional/ additional cost), a unique experience that allows you to walk safely among giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and antelopes. In the afternoon, guests may optionally visit Hell’s Gate National Park to explore its dramatic gorges, geothermal features, and open landscapes by foot or bicycle.
