Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel or the airport in Nairobi, followed by a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley, where you will stop briefly to enjoy panoramic views and take photographs. You will then continue toward the Maasai Mara, arriving around midday. After checking in at your chosen lodge or tented camp, you will enjoy lunch and have some time to relax. Later in the afternoon, you will depart for your first game drive in the Maasai Mara, exploring the open plains and riverine areas in search of wildlife such as lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and various antelope species. As the day comes to an end, you will return to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast at the lodge or camp, you will set out for a full day of game viewing within the Maasai Mara, carrying a packed picnic lunch to maximize time in the reserve. The day will be spent exploring different regions of the park, including areas known for high predator activity and river crossings where hippos and crocodiles are often seen. The Maasai Mara’s vast landscapes provide excellent opportunities to observe the Big Five as well as numerous bird species. For guests seeking a unique perspective of the reserve, an optional hot air balloon safari is available early in the morning, offering spectacular views of the plains at sunrise followed by a champagne bush breakfast, after which you will rejoin the main safari activities. In the afternoon, you may also opt for a visit to a traditional Maasai village to gain insight into their culture, traditions, and daily way of life. You will return to your lodge or camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.
