Morning (7:00 AM – 7:30 AM):
Depart from your hotel or the airport in Nairobi. Drive south along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway, passing through open savannah country and local Maasai towns.

Mid-Day: Arrive at Amboseli in time for lunch and check into your lodge or tented camp. Take some time to settle in and enjoy the views of Mount Kilimanjaro (weather permitting).

Afternoon (3:30 PM – 6:30 PM):
Head out for your first afternoon game drive. Explore the open plains and swamps where you are likely to spot large families of elephants, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, and various antelopes, with the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro as your backdrop.

Evening: Return to the camp/lodge for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Full-Day Exploration of Amboseli Early Morning (6:45 AM – 3:30 PM):

Rise early for a sunrise game drive. The early morning hours offer the clearest views of Kilimanjaro before clouds gather, and the big cats (lions and cheetahs) are typically active.

Visit Observation Hill, a conical hill that provides a fantastic vantage point for a panoramic view of the entire park, including the swamps and marshes below packed with hippos and elephants.

Later return to the lodge, relax at the lodge, swim, or take advantage of the camp amenities.

Optional Activity:
Balloon safari i deal for early morning before game drive, gives you (usually an extra cost $430 per person). Float silently above the plains, forests, and rivers, enjoying panoramic views of Africa’s wildlife from a unique aerial vantage point. This African balloon safari offers a serene, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Amboseli National Park to Masai Mara

After breakfast, depart Amboseli at 7:00 am for a drive to Masai Mara, arriving at Mai Mahiu via Nairobi for lunch between 12:00 and 2:00 pm. After lunch, continue to the Masai Mara National Reserve (3 to 4 hours).

You will arrive at the Masai Mara Camp between 5:30 and 6:30 pm for dinner and an overnight stay.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and water.

Full-Day Game Viewing in the Maasai Mara Morning-Evening (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM):

Start your day with breakfast then early morning game drive when predators like leopards and lions are most active. Full-Day Exploration: Spend the entire day exploring the vast, rolling savannah plains of the Mara full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch to maximize your coverage of the park.

Track the "Big Five" (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, and Rhino). Visit the famous Mara River (crucial if you are traveling during the Great Migration season between July - October to witness river crossings, or to spot resident hippos and crocodiles year-round).

Evening: Head back to your lodge or camp around sunset for dinner and overnight.

Arrive back in Nairobi, where you will be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or the airport for your onward journey.

Hot Air Balloon Safari:
Can be arranged for the dawn of Day 5 ($430 per person) offering a bird’s-eye view of the plains followed by a champagne bush breakfast.

Maasai Village Visit:
Can be organized with your driver-guide on Day 1 or Day 5 (~$20 per person) to experience traditional song, dance, and culture.

Vehicle Choice: A 4x4 Land Cruiser is highly recommended over a 4WD safari van, especially during rainy seasons, to comfortably handle the rugged final stretch of the road to the Mara.
