Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up in Nairobi, followed by a scenic drive north through central Kenya, passing farmlands and dramatic landscapes as you approach the semi-arid region of Samburu. You’ll arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in Samburu National Reserve, known for its unique wildlife such as Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, and the Samburu “Special Five.” The Ewaso Nyiro River attracts abundant wildlife, offering excellent photography opportunities before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Samburu National Reserve

Today is dedicated to exploring Samburu National Reserve in depth. After breakfast, head out for a morning game drive to track predators and plains game while enjoying the rugged scenery dotted with acacia trees and rocky outcrops. You’ll return to the lodge for lunch and leisure time. In the late afternoon, another game drive allows you to further explore different areas of the reserve, with chances to spot elephants, lions, leopards, and diverse birdlife. As the sun sets, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Samburu – Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Ol Pejeta is renowned for its rhino conservation efforts and is home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos. You may also encounter chimpanzees, lions, buffalo, and plains game in this conservation-focused setting. Return to your camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you’ll check out and drive toward Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in the early afternoon. Following lunch, enjoy a game drive in the park, famous for its flamingos, diverse birdlife, and thriving populations of black and white rhinos. The park’s woodlands and lakeshore also provide habitat for lions, leopards, giraffes, and buffalo. Later in the day, proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru and journey southwest through the Great Rift Valley toward the Masai Mara National Reserve. You’ll arrive in time for lunch at your camp or lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in the Masai Mara, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife reserves. The vast savannahs are home to the Big Five and an incredible concentration of wildlife. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

This full day is dedicated to exploring the Masai Mara. After breakfast, set out on an extensive game drive across the reserve, following wildlife movements across the open plains and riverine areas. You’ll break for lunch before continuing your exploration in the afternoon, with excellent chances of spotting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. The day concludes with a return to camp for dinner and overnight.
