Nairobi to Amboseli - Scenic Drive & Afternoon Game Drive

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel, residence, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. You will depart south toward Amboseli National Park, passing through open countryside, farmland, and small towns that reflect everyday Kenyan life. As you approach the park, weather permitting, Mount Kilimanjaro may come into view.

Arrive in the Amboseli area around midday and proceed to your camp for check-in, followed by lunch. After a short rest, head out for an afternoon game drive in Amboseli National Park. Explore the open plains and swamp areas that attract elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of birdlife. Return to the camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Amboseli - Full-Day Game Drive with Picnic Lunch

After an early breakfast at the camp, depart for a full-day game drive in Amboseli National Park. Spend the day exploring the park’s vast open plains, acacia woodlands, and swamp areas fed by underground springs from Mount Kilimanjaro. These habitats support large herds of elephants, as well as buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a wide variety of birdlife. Lions and cheetahs may also be seen resting in shaded areas or hunting in the open savannah.

A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a designated spot within the park, allowing you to remain in the wilderness while taking a break and observing wildlife in their natural surroundings. After lunch, continue with afternoon game viewing, visiting different sections of the park for varied scenery and wildlife sightings. In the late afternoon, return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay, concluding a full day immersed in Amboseli’s landscapes and wildlife.

Amboseli to Nairobi - Scenic Return Journey

After an early breakfast at the camp, you will check out and begin the journey back to Nairobi. The return drive offers another opportunity to enjoy the changing landscapes of southern Kenya, passing through open plains, rural settlements, and farmland. Weather permitting, you may catch final views of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance as you depart the Amboseli region.

Short stops will be made along the way for refreshments and comfort breaks. This relaxed drive allows time to reflect on the wildlife experiences and scenic beauty enjoyed over the past few days. You will arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon and be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or the airport, marking the end of your 3-day Amboseli budget safari.
