1-Day Akagera National Park Game Drive Safari

Begin early in the morning with a transfer from Kigali with a pickup at your hotel, a scenic drive of two and a half hours. Upon arrival, you’ll enter the park and set out on a full day game drive led by experienced guides. The drive takes you through different habitats, offering opportunities to spot elephants moving through the bush, buffalo grazing in herds, and perhaps a leopard resting in the shade. Lions may be seen patrolling the plains, while rhinos add to the park’s unique appeal.
Beyond the Big Five, Akagera is home to giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous antelope species. Bird enthusiasts will be delighted by the park’s more than 500 recorded species, including the rare shoebill stork. Midday, you’ll pause for a picnic lunch in the heart of the park before continuing the drive into the northern sector, known for its higher concentration of wildlife. By late afternoon, you will exit the park and return to Kigali, arriving and we shall drop you off at your hotel.
