Upon arrival at Nairobi Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver guide. After introductions and a brief travel orientation, you’ll set off for the Masai Mara National Reserve, driving through the scenic Great Rift Valley with a stop in Narok town for refreshments. On your journey, embark on your first game drive, spotting herds of grazing impalas, giraffes, and other wildlife as you approach the Mara. You will have the option of morning and afternoon game drives, with all meals provided at your camp, or depart with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive. After breakfast, venture deep into the reserve, where the rolling savannah stretches endlessly and teems with wildlife. The Masai Mara is world renowned for its exceptional game viewing. It is home to the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. The reserve also hosts an abundance of plains game and their predators. You may encounter warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, various antelope species, giraffes, hippos, and the infamous crocodiles lurking along the Mara River. After a relaxed hearty breakfast, we’ll begin our scenic descent into the heart of the Great Rift Valley toward Lake Nakuru National Park. This sanctuary is a true jewel of Kenya, world renowned for its shimmering alkaline waters and the iconic, rosy hues of its flamingo lined shores. We’ll arrive at your lodge just in time for a warm welcome and a delicious, hearty lunch. Spend your early afternoon at leisure perhaps with a cool drink overlooking the park before we set out on a private game drive. As the soft afternoon light filters through the acacia trees, keep your eyes peeled for the park’s famous white and black rhinos, as well as lions, cheetahs, and the graceful Rothschild’s giraffes.
