Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Estimated drive time: 7–8 hours

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from your hotel in Entebbe at 5:00 AM as you journey through Uganda's countryside towards Queen Elizabeth National Park, the country's most popular savannah park. Enjoy changing landscapes along the way, from bustling towns and traditional farms to rolling hills and the distant Rwenzori Mountains.

After a lunch stop en route and arrival at the park, embark on an afternoon boat cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway stretching for 32 kilometers, connecting Lake George and Lake Edward, supports one of Africa's highest concentrations of hippos and attracts an incredible variety of wildlife all year. The channel is a water source for animals in Queen Elizabeth National Park, making it one of Uganda's premier locations for wildlife viewing and photography.

Estimated game drive: 3–4 hours | Transfer: 4–5 hours

Rise early for a game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, when wildlife is most active. Keep watch for lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and, with luck, leopards. Queen Elizabeth National Park boasts one of the highest biodiversity levels of any protected area in Africa, combining savannah, wetlands, crater lakes, and forests.

After lunch, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, travelling through the spectacular western highlands and the Ishasha sector, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions. Arrive in the evening and settle into your lodge on the edge of the ancient rainforest.

Covering nearly 2,000 square kilometers, Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda's most diverse protected area. Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Estimated trekking time: 2–6 hours | Transfer: 2–3 hours

Today brings the highlight of your Ugandan adventure. Following an early briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers, venture into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. This UNESCO World Heritage Site protects nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. The trek may take several hours depending on the gorillas' location, but the reward is extraordinary: a full hour spent observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat.

After lunch, transfer to the breathtaking Lake Bunyonyi, a serene highland lake dotted with islands and surrounded by terraced hills.

Mountain gorillas are among the world's rarest great apes, found only in Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Uganda protects nearly half of the global population within Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, making gorilla trekking one of the most exclusive wildlife experiences on Earth.
