Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Estimated trekking time: 2–6 hours | Transfer: 2–3 hours
Today brings the highlight of your Ugandan adventure. Following an early briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers, venture into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. This UNESCO World Heritage Site protects nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. The trek may take several hours depending on the gorillas' location, but the reward is extraordinary: a full hour spent observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat.
After lunch, transfer to the breathtaking Lake Bunyonyi, a serene highland lake dotted with islands and surrounded by terraced hills.
Mountain gorillas are among the world's rarest great apes, found only in Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
